Any one here ever heard of or listened to James Armstrong?

I have all three releases. If you only buy one, the first is arguably the best. Hard, Hard Blues and Sleeping With A Stranger are the highlights in my opinion. But my fave is Another Dream from the third release. If you aren't moved by that song, you aren't paying attention, brother.

So, how about this guy?

Bass man Willie Kent was long a fixture in the ChiTown Blues scene. And most of his music appeared on the Chicago landmark, Delmark records. They were the go to label between the Chess era and todays Alligator.

Take a look and see if something here lights your fire. Either of these guys could use the boost, though, in Kent's case, it would be his estate as he's passed on. I'd love to see Joe pick up something from one these guys. And Armstrong might be label shopping. So... Give'em a listen sometime.

A friend had a story about Willie Kent. He went to a show in Chicago, bought a CD "Comin' Alive" from Willie and had him autograph it. A week later Willie passed on. Willie's blues are a real good listen.
