First Judas Priest, then Journey, now Yes!

Sometimes with the lack of original members in these groups it is hard to tell the so-called original bands from the tribute acts!

Thanks Keith! I hope Jon is doing OK, I'm glad I at least got to see him recently with the School of Rock and back in the day.  The tribute replacement certainly has the YES sound, he's quite good.

Bloody hell, what next? Yes without  Jon Anderson isn't Yes, I don't care how good the new guy is.

never grow old, never ever die young

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry !!

Re: Yes Vocalist Jon Anderson Out, Replaced By Tribute Band Singer

The only thing I can think of is that Jon has not totally recovered and/or responded well to treatment and isn't in the best condition needed for singing/touring.  Keep us posted if you hear anything new Keith.

This is old news, but provides an explanation.

Re: Yes Vocalist Jon Anderson Out, Replaced By Tribute Band Singer

As you can see from my forum name I am a huge Yes fan but would never want to see them live without Jon Anderson.

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Re: Yes Vocalist Jon Anderson Out, Replaced By Tribute Band Singer

Jon Anderson is not happy at being replaced with Canadian Benoit David - a singer with several Yes tribute bands.. "Disappointed, and very disrespected," is how he describes the events in a posting on his official site.
"Disappointed that, with the exception of one phone call from Alan, none of the guys have been in touch since my illness, just to find out how I am doing, and how we will foresee the future for YES. And disappointed that they were not willing to wait till 2009 when I’m fully recovered."
“Of course I wish the guys all the best in their 'solo' work, but I just wish this could have been done in a more gentlemanly fashion. After all YES is a precious musical band."

He concludes that "This is not YES on tour..."

Re: Yes Vocalist Jon Anderson Out, Replaced By Tribute Band Singer

This is an entirely different scenario than I thought it was, I assumed wrong.  Wow!  Taking this a step further, if Jon is this upset (rightly so it seems), can YES legally go out on tour and play YES songs?  I didn't follow all the details about the Doors, but after 5 years in litigation, the 2 remaining members didn't fair well legally $$$ carrying on as Riders On The Storm.

Kinda like any version of "Thin Lizzy" without Philip as regards using the name.....
