Maybe I should go with the Jets. They just finished the new Jets training camp and it's in the next town over from me. Brett Farve also lives a few minutes away from me, in his newly purchased house.

Don't tell Roy. big_smile

Take pictures Bill - I want to see Brett's new house - seeing him play with the Jets on
Sunday made me realize again how much we miss him in Wisconsin!  He and Pennington
both played well so I'm glad for both of them.

Hey Bill,

If you see Brett around the neighborhood, tell him I say hello, OK? He won't have a clue who Roy is, but it may be a good ice breaker for you. I'm sure he needs all the friends he can get out in New York. Hmmm.....I wonder what joebeacon thinks of this? Oh that's right, he's a big Giants fan like Joe. smile

Wonder why only the US calls it soccer?

Re: Are You Ready For Some F00TBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill,
I'm not sure if you are so far north in New Jersey that you think of yourself as a New Yorker,;) so you may be crossing the line to root for the Philadelphia Eagles, but if you need a team, you could dress up like this dude, 2nd from right... http://sports.espn.go.com/travel/news/story?id=3535005  I don't know if I'll ever get use to Brett not in a GB uniform, even though its more the norm to switch, I never thought it would apply to Brett...I feel bad for all you loyal GB fans, you made me love the guy, well now you'll be watching another football game every week! smile   Yesterday was a very fun season opener for the Eagles, sorry St. Louis fans...we've been there too.  Its always the kiss of death for me to boast about my team, so I'm moot, except to say I like our new rookie from Calif.  DeSean Jackson...

Jane, I never heard Faith do that song, but love to crank up Joan on occasion to tell it like it is...:D  a badderass emphasis of Miss You, Hate You

Greenose, I almost forgot to comment...its funny about the history of different versions of football.
Football is Football and Soccer is Soccer.  All coming from an American viewpoint, of course, football played with a pointy end versus round rules on this side of the pond!  smile smile smile

Actually Duncan,

I refer to it as "Football" rather than "Soccer", but in case you were still wondering:

Well, the England result was pretty dire.....but 2-0 is still a win I suppose.

Re: Are You Ready For Some F00TBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe how the Raiders handed that one to the Bills. Up by 9 points with about 5 minutes left, they drop their D backs into a deep zone and let Edwards pick them apart! The Raiders outplayed the Bills for the first 55 minutes...  Maybe that's Lane Kiffen's way of flipping Al Davis the bird?

Major Tom to ground control...

No, it's Rob Ryan.
