Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

New to the forum, so I didn't read through all 25 pages of the post here and appologize if these are duplicates.

I know Joe loves a good challenge, so how about something different like - Surfing with the Alien; and something blues like - Anyday by Derek and the Dominoes.

Who Knows - Hendrix/Band of Gypsys
Spoonful
White Room... it'll be awesome if Joe is gonna do that for us smile
Songs of Yesterday - Free
Blue Valentines - Tom Waits... this song gives me goosebumps, hearing Joe sing it would be amazing
Black Betty - Ram Jam... lol random one big_smile

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

Hmm rarr:) More proof strange things happen on this forum.  Ram Jam- read this whole ridiculous (I'm lovingly criticizing it not bashing it) post and someone beat you to the "random" choice. Back to the stranger, I have been contemplating whether Joe could do Tom Waits cover (of course that gets a quick yes)....Then I've drawn blanks as to which one.  Interesting suggestion though. Spoonful has already received coverage with the preceding bassist Mark Epstein in live concerts.

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

What about Precious & Grace from ZZ Top? Joe could really make his own heavy blues version of that!

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

How about something a little different and a little less mainstream like one of Junior Kimbrough's hypnotic tunes, such as My Mind Is Rambling... That would be something unlike all he has recorded before and tie in with the American blues theme of the new album.

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

There are several Mad Season songs that when I listen to the CD I wonder what kind of twist Joe could give them. The one I would like to see him do is the song Artificial Red.

I always enjoy when Joe does a cover to see what kind of "Bonammasa Twist" he gives it. I bet he could make an Air Supply son sond wicked.

Good suggestions Graeme

I'd be happy if there was a covers album, even like an outakes album aslong as we got an originals album aswell! smile
