Topic: Colt 45

Yes its Scagey here, with a band named after a drink AND a gun.
We play mainly covers, but are introducing new songs of our own to our setlist, we may add some songs of Joe's, but for now we are heavily influenced by Guns n roses, as is out set list.

We played out first gig after 8 days of forming, and u'll find me under the name of rifle, with the PRS on pics of our myspace:

www.myspace.com/colt45band

so check em out, and we'll promise to add more stuff, i know its empty, but we will stick at it, as Bullet's dad (jeremy, andys dad) has decided to lend us £1000 to buy a new PA KIT!!
So thats, roughly $2000!

See ya soon

We'll let evry one know on this friendly forum when songs are posted, coz i'm on here quite a lot.
Thanks again for look in on our page, that gig was after 8 days of forming, if you keep you're eyes peeled you'll be noted of upcoming gigs, that;ll only apply to local people though, as we're from southern england, but again. Cheers.

I myself have done roughly a hundred gigs, we're just all new.

Watch that space.

Re: Colt 45

Finally!!!!
We've been changing our myspace about, and we managed to post up a sneak peak of our recent gig, of us playing a cover of WHOLE LOTTA LOVE, im with the PRS on the right, but the problem is, that this song maybe the slightest bit bluesy, but it doesnt show the guitar work to its best, and the tone on our amps was really badly messed up, with no time to fix it!! The drummer posted this up coz he has a long solo in it, which is why, but hey, we have out longest gig so far this saturday, leading to more material being posted. This gig was only an hour, and we could have posted sweet child o mine, which is our fave song together, but hey, we'll keep posting. Thanx for visiting.

Re: Colt 45

That was great. I thought the guitars had a Communication Breakdown kind of sound. Let us know when you gets some more video posted. That rocked.

Re: Colt 45

It did ROCK, indeed Scagey - I'm JUST now sitting back down after being COMPELLED to get up and dance!!!!  I can't believe you guys sounded that great together after only forming 8 days beforehand!!!  Fantastic!!!!   Keep it up and keep us informed!!!!

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: Colt 45

Thanks for that guys, you seem like big led zep fans, we're more GNR based, but i'll try and post a song that shows greater guitar ability.

Re: Colt 45

Our first experience with the new PA has been hard, its a completely different layout than normal, although we have someone helping with our mixer. We'll be testing this new toy out tommorow evening, when we play at the local pub for the carnival this weekend.
(Shattered after preparing for this gig, been a real rush)
Taking a break now!

Re: Colt 45

Classic rock disaster, i find it hard to believe
so we're all set up, about to soundcheck, and the left stage PA stops working, we soundcheck using only 1 PA, and it works, despite starting late, and having to do a pub gig on one PA, ( two on each side, a bass and treble system).
It works Ok, but its all on full, and the levels were'nt staying put, so at the start of our second set, theres are spark and a bang, then there's all smoke coming from the mixer!!!
It was terible, but we played well, and thats what mattered, despite only getting paid 150, of the expected £200, so that was a bad sign, but these were just early (unlucky days), and there are better things to come, so we'll be having fun in our upcoming gigs.

Still surviving

Re: Colt 45

School suckS!
I know evry one says its the best days of your life, and it probably is, but it gets in the ways of gigs!
We did a gig in blandford again, and i had to go to school again the next day, and we all decided in the band for no gigs in the week again sad but the next day, i nearly fell asleep in lessons, so i kinda learnt my lesson, but daym! I wish i could gig instead of school anyday LOL

Re: Colt 45

Hey havent been on this topic in a while.

If anyones interested, please go ahead and check out my bands new material, on

www.myspace.com/colt45band

We're having loads of trouble getting publicity, so we would be EXTREMELY grateful if anybody could tell their friends about us, to have any of the slightest chance of becoming well known, only a few in the corner of our small county know of us, and for all the hard work we put into the band, as well as struggling with the intense heat of school work, it would please us immensly to receive more gigs, afterall, the experience is the whole reason we started in the first place!
Thanks

Rus

PS
This was our first time in the studio, and having two guitarists in the group means restricting solos, most of which include many mistakes, which i myself, am commonly guilty of, the recordings of 6 songs, took less than 5 hours, and time was not on our hands, and we rushed the recordings on the lowest levels as possible. So now i know how hectic recording is, and i can proimise you i will never critisize AGAIN! It is hard, and no way near as fun as playing live!
