Topic: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

I haven't seen Joe perform since last summer in Pittsburgh.  He tends to swap out amp heads like most guitarists swap out pedals.  Does anyone know what he's using on his pedalboard this current tour?  I know for awhile he was touting the wonders of the OceanEFX Pearl Drive...which is an amazing and great sounding pedal.  Is he still using it? I know there was a thread for awhile about Dumble and OD pedals and Joe really spoke highly of the Pearl Drive.

I still wonder..maybe Joe you can shed light on thi...the pros and cons...of why he never went with a Rack Effect like the TC Electronics or Lexicon for his verbs and delays...even some of the rotovibe type effects.

Anyway, what's on his pedalboard these days?

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

Actually yes. I went to the stage in Kettering and got a real good look (like two weeks ago). He has the Fuzz Face from EJ, a TS808, a Vox Wah, some other booster, a DD-3... maybe somethin else...

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

i think theres also a tube screamer and a layla pedal, not sure which one!

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

The TS808 would be the Tubescreamer.  Anything else?  What's he using for the Leslie/Univibe Sound and is the Pearl Drive still in use?

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

I'm surprized no one wants to talk about Joe's pedalboards?  Hmm

I don't think no one wants to talk about it, it's just that it's a holiday weekend (US) so most folks are away from their computers.

This forum seems to be at it's busiest during the work day. Just a observation.

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

That would be my observation. Most people like to get payed to play. smile

Thanks for the limk but that's a pretty old clip ( Joe's holding a strat and he has two Buddas behind him)
I know he's always trying out new stuff.  I was wondering what new gear has caught his ear lately.

Thanks!

Ok sorry I can't help with that.

think thats from late 2007

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

I'm pretty sure this has been posted before. AFAIK it was taken in the UK in March this year. I saw Joe in July at the Liverpool Academy and the pedal board was still the same. Obviously the current US rig could have changed as certainly the guitars have.

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

I did send Joe a Pearl Drive a few months back but I'm not sure to what extent he's using it.  I haven't seen him live yet, but will on Sep 26...

The Pearl is not a TS type pedal so I'm sure he'd still be using the 808...with the Pearl or maybe another boost for occasional flavor.  I'd say he's getting most of the sweet OD tones from his amps, though.

Re: Joe's Current Pedalboard Setup

Corby from Ocean is way too humble to do this himself so I'll do it for him.  Check out this clip of his Pearl Drive in action.  This is a sweet sounding pedal (and some nice playing too)
