Topic: Tallan T-Man Latz Update....

The word is, Tallan will be appearing on the NBC Today show sometime towards the end of September. Apparently, the show is planning on doing a series on children prodigies. Obviously, Tallan is being selected because of his guitar skills. In addition, in the next day or two, Tallan and his father Carl will be meeting with Buddy Guy. Tallan will also be featured on another new National Talk show called The Bonnie Hunt Show. He will be on during the premier week.

This Sunday, Tallan will be performing with his band "The Young Guns" at the 105th Harley-Davidson Celebration in Milwaukee. The location of their performance will be at the Harley-Davidson Museum and will be at 11:00 AM. In addition, Hubert Sumlin will be performing next Friday in Port Washington, Wisconsin and it appears Tallan will join him on stage during the show. Also, on September 20th at the Paramount Blues Festival, Tallan will make a special guest appearance between Bryan Lee and Watermelon Slim:

This information was obtained from Carl Latz, Tallan's father, in a conversation last night.

Re: Tallan T-Man Latz Update....

Thanks for the update Roy. It's nice to hear things are moving along for him and that his detractors probably helped get him known nationally. Please post dates as they are announced. I don't want to miss seeing him. Hubert Sumlin is one of the kindest, most lovable bluesmen out there..He's very special and Tallan will feel welcomed.  Cathy

Re: Tallan T-Man Latz Update....

Thanks everyone regarding your comments about Tallan. I did send this link to Carl yesterday and so both he and Tallan know about the encouragment that you all have been posting. Needless to say, Doris, Carl and Tallan really appreciate it!

I believe I mentioned this before, but when Carl and Tallan got back from their trip to New York to appear on the CBS Early Morning show, Carl discovered that all of Tallan's websites had been erased, including his MySpace account. Carl has rebuilt a temporary MySpace account for Tallan and you can view it here:

http://www.myspace.com/tmanlatz

I also want to show you a great picture of Tallan that Carl took of him. When they were in New York, their hotel was not far from Carnegie Hall. Well, for those of you that have Stevie Ray Vaughn's album, "Live at Carnegie Hall", you know this is the cover picture:

http://www.amazon.com/Live-Carnegie-Hal … B000002BYA

Well, if you look at this picture, you'll see Tallan standing in about the same spot that Stevie stood:

Along with listing Joe Bonamassa as one of Tallan's all time favorite guitarists, Stevie Ray also holds a soft spot in Tallan's heart. As a matter of fact, a while ago Carl was contacted by Stevie's former manager. That fellow sent Carl a one foot section of Stevie's "Voodoo Cord" which was a long (I think 100 foot) cord that Stevie always used to plug into his amp. Stevie's manager told Carl that he is sure Stevie is looking down and smiling when Tallan plays.

Unfortunately, I am working Sunday so I won't be able to see Tallan perform at the Harley-Davidson museum. But I will be out in Port Washington next Friday and will be attending the Paramount Blues Festival in September. I'll be smiling at both of those shows....

Roy

P.S. Also, last year on the anniversary of Stevie's death, Tallan and Carl went out to the crash site and Tallan played "The Sky is Crying"......wish I had been there........

Edited to add the P.S.

Re: Tallan T-Man Latz Update....

By the way, here's a link to some pictures of Tallan when he joined the great Walter Trout and his band on stage for a number at Shank Hall this past July 23rd. Walter told Carl that anytime he is in town, he should bring Tallan's guitar and Tallan should be ready to plug in. This is the second time that Walter has shared his stage with Tallan. Needless to say, just another example of why I say Walter is such a wonderful guy! Step through the pictures and enjoy....
