Whenever I have what I think is a really bad day, I read some of this little book I keep on my dresser....it has kept me from letting the days drama from overwhelming me...like it says in the book..."and it's all small stuff"....99% of the time, this book is always true...I wanted to leave you with a thought for the day...so smile will ya

This book must not have worked too well for it's author. He died of a heart attack at age 45. Geuss he shouldn't have sweated the big stuff.

Great thing about the avatars is you can change them as you wish.

Something about principles over personalities, a concept that still causes me difficulty.

"Autobiography of a Yogi"....by Paramansa Yogananda...he founded "Self Christian Fellowship"....he also has an another book that escaspes me right now...without making this religious, this book is mind blowing! (IMHO)

If that's what it was, it wouldn't be deep at all. There are certain spiritual axioms in the universe that are perfect & true, often, no usually, delivered by a human voice or written word. The quality of the messenger might be no indicator of the quality or veracity of the message.

Wait a minute! That's who you're talking about? He founded Self-Realization Fellowship...he died at 59, as the story is told of his own volition at a speech he gave where he had already prepared his followers for his departure.

Okay that means our whole solar system could be ...like one tiny atom in the finger nail of some other giant being! That means that one tiny atom in my finger nail could be one little tiny universe!!

Thats right Jeff, but I cant belive I couldnt get my info correct, I know better, sorry....anyhow he was an amazing person, if you ever get the chance to read up on him, I highly recommend it...my wifes grandfather met him a few years before he died, and the man turned "Pappys" life around...every year Debs grandfather would donate a hefty some of money to the Self Realization church in the Bay Area...someday we'll meet and I'll share some of Pappys storys with you....I've never met anyone in my lifetime like the man, he humbled me, he was light years ahead of everyone around him...he feared absolutely nothing, smiled when he talked of his next life

Well, that´s a lovely book which I´ve read ages ago. In fact it was the first book which brought me in contact with Hindu wisdom, even when Yogananda is more the type of an universal wise man.

That´s perfectly right. Think about Chögyam Trungpa ("Cutting through spiritual materialism")who was an achieved Buddhist master with a very strange personality. It means that spiritual and personal-emotional development seem to proceed in different ways and in different rhythms. The same is true for artists and musicians: their work might have a divine creativity even when their personality is rather modest. We are lucky that Joe seems to be not only a great artist but also a great human being.
