Topic: Are any of Joe's guitars swimming across the pond?

Just a quickie. Does anyone know if any of Joe's signature LPs are making their way to the shores of the UK? I've checked the websites of my favourite guitar shops (Guitar Village and Andertons) and I can't see a mention of it on either of their sites. They're usually well stocked so if anywhere had them one of them would have I would have thought. I understand they're a fairly limited edition and wondering if you guys in the US are hogging them all.  smile

It doesn't look like they've taken delivery yet. Perhaps only the first batch have been released so far. If 300 are being made and only the first 100 are finished then perhaps that explains it. Thanks for the link though. £2,800. Crumbs!

I got the coda music link in my favourites, just keep on checkin you know........;)

"Stellar" a word used by Joe Bonamassa (also apt as a description of the man himself cool)

Theres two currently for sale on ebay. Not sure if they'll ship overseas. Ask the seller.

Re: Are any of Joe's guitars swimming across the pond?

The problem I have, entirely self-inflicted I know, is that I won't by a guitar without first playing it. If I'm not comfortable playing a guitar or it doesn't feel "right" then I would be disappointed every time I picked it up. I'm sure the custom shop do a great job, but people are human. It is inevitable that some will feel right and some won't.

Those two on ebay would be about £3.5k once they'd make it on to these shores. Our import system means that you pay duty on the item based on its value, including shipping. This is likely to be about 6%. Then you have to pay VAT over the lot, including the duty. That's right, they tax the tax! It usually works out a 28% markup on most things. I'd still have the issue over playability too. Basically I'd ndeed to try one in a shop before I could even contemplating buying one.

Try Mike at that Guitar shop in Brighton........we ordered two and they arrived in two weeks....I know he has another coming into stock.

Re: Are any of Joe's guitars swimming across the pond?

Hi RH, thanks for the information. Someone on here tipped me off that my local shop have got one in stock (Guitar Village in Farnham) so I'm hopefully going to try that in the next few days. I probably won't be buying but I'll certainly let you guys know how it feels if anyone is interested.

Hi,

yes let us all know your thoughts.
I stated it already in another posting. If I hadn't my lovely '57 Goldtop
then I would buy one immediately...

Oh, this is my 100. posting. Platinum from today. smile

Re: Are any of Joe's guitars swimming across the pond?

I was out today and stopped by Andertons in Guildford and they said that they didn't have one or have one on order. I don't think I'll get time to visit GV until the middle of next week at the earliest unfortunately. Hopefully it'll stick around long enough to have a play.  smile

Update...had a call from Mike today and he has just taken delivery of two JB`s.

One I konw is already sold to a mate of mine (The original one with the broken neck)

If you want the other one then give Mike at GAK a call....tell him you heard it here!!

Rick

btw......I read a post earlier that stated you would`nt buy a guitar without playing it first....fair play and I have never done the same until now.......I have a r58 which is as close I guess to the JB or maybe a 59...anyway I kind of guessed that this would be close enough to make a call on.....I have to say that it is way better and you should buy before you try!!

Re: Are any of Joe's guitars swimming across the pond?

Surprised that coda music guitar hasnt gone yet?!??
If i can afford it soon, im getting it. No decision, if i had the money, i'd buy it.
Need to play one though, would be great if they played as insane as they look!
Anybody tried one out? How do they play for those fast little bluesy licks?

There are a few places that do interest free deals on guitars. You may be able to get one a little sooner than you might have otherwise.
