Topic: SF Blues Festival 2008

just looked at the lineup for the SF Blues Festival again, cause I usually order tickets early by mail and I haven't done it yet. Considering that I was afraid the festival wouldn't be happening this year, or ever again, the lineup is really much better than might be expected. I'm really very excited about Saturday, and had thought I'd only go that day, but Sunday Johnny is there and well he's still alive and well and I love Johnny so Im there.
I pasted the lineup and the ticket info below. If you're planning to go, it's less expensive to buy tickets in advance and it would be very helpful to Tom Mazzolini and the future of this festival to sell a good number of advance tickets.

Here's the 411

Now that's a great line-up. If you want to get a smile, take Ruthie Foster an empty cafeteria tray..she said when she gets off the Blues Cruise she walks in her kitchen with an empty tray hoping food will appear!. Curtis has one of the best voices out there and it sure is nice that he's healthy again. Elvin Bishop STILL rocks! And, Michael Burks is always a good time. You will be surprised at how healthy Johnny Winter looks compared to past years. All in all I'd say it sounds like ANOTHER west coast good time!!       Cathy

Re: SF Blues Festival 2008

Hey Bluezman,

Suppose I wanted to go to this festival, when the hell is it? That's OK we had a rough weekend so I'll fill in the blanks. The 36th annual San Francisco Blues Festival @ Fort Mason Sept. 26, 27, & 28. It's billed as the longest continuosly running blues festival in the country. Man in all those years I've never made this one, maybe it's about time.

Bluezman, Johnny Winter, Captured Live, Day On The Green Sept. 20, 1975. The line-up: Earthquake, Edgar Winter, Johnny Winter, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The Outlaws played with Frampton and Skynyrd in '77. See my post on Day On The Greens.

                                                                                                   Think Green,

                                                                                                   J Dawg
