Topic: My Gigliotti GT is finally home
Hi Bonamaniacs,
finally got my Gigliotti GT. I'm still amazed at the beauty...:)
Here are the first impressions but be aware i'm biased!
The craftmanship and playability are outstanding. The setup was perfect right out of the box.
I changed the string gauge to 011-048 which makes the guitar responding a better than the 010 set that was on.
The neck is very thick and has a smooth satin finish which I like.
The top is as plain as glass. No marks. On the golden backplate is the serialnr. #73 and my name engraved. Wow! It has a soft V shape in the fist 5 frets and blends over into a c-shape.
I opted for Fralin blues SCs and this choice was very good.
Listen to 'don't make your move to fast' this sound comes very close.
If you roll back the volume you get this sparkly, twangy clean sound which really sounds like a Tele should. The neck pu sings very sweet and rolled back you get this bell like clean sound. The weight is around 3,7kg (8.15 lbs)
I enjoy playing it since last night that my fingertips already hurt...:D
I can tell you that I will go for GS as soon I can afford it.
To conclude, first I was insecure to order a guitar in this price range without having it in my
hands a single time. But now I'm more than happy. I always wanted a Tele but never found
one which I really liked. So this one is perfect.
A big thanks to Patrick for the quick delivery (all in all 3,5 months)
and thanks to Joe for introducing me to Gigliotti guitars.
Alex
