Topic: Raising the hairs

There's been some posts a while ago about the emotional responses by some when listening to music and I've thought about this for a while. Glad it just isn't me.

Anyway, I was driving to a meeting today and was listening to a variety of stuff in the car.
I Can't Make You Love Me by Bonnie Rait came on and the hairs on the back of my neck, head, arms and legs (!!!!!!) lifted.......errrr.......erect. There's just no other word for it.
What a beautiful song.
If I was in the position the song is about (which thankfully I'm not) I'm not sure I could have continued to drive the car !!

Then there's a similar reaction sometimes to instrumental parts of songs as well. The intro to Mountain Time by the master does the same. So it doesn't always have to be about the lyrics for me, or it being a sad song.

Obviously, some will have songs that move them because of special personal sentimental reasons, but besides this, the question is, what songs move you to tears (or a state of "erect" body hair !!) ?

Bonnie has been doing that to me for, give or take, 35 years! cool

So yes, I know exactly where you're coming from. I hear you about Mountain Time too; though that, as well as lots of other wonderful pieces of music can give me that tingling feeling or make me respond emotionally, I've discovered that only a very few, very special voices can give me that goose bumps and hair on ends reaction - of these, Bonnie is the one whose effect on my remaining hairs is the most dramatic. big_smile
