Topic: The Nighthawks...

Saw them tonight at Moondog's.....best Rhythm & Blues band I've ever seen.

Made me feel like I was in jr. high again.....square biz.....

I mean, come on.....when was the last time you heard a band doin' Chuck Berry's "30 Days", or "Scratch My Back", or "Baby Lemme Bang Your Box".....(it's a tune about playin' a piano.....trust me, I looked it up forty years ago.....)

They were on their way home from Cleveland, and figgered they'd say hey at Moondog's.....

This is a band not to be missed, no matter when you were in jr. high.....

They're at home still runnin' for bells

Re: The Nighthawks...

Great choice SRV. I first heard them on their 1975 LP "Open All Night" and love their tunes. I've got a few of their CDs that I certainly do not play enough. At the moment I'm uploading a few CDs on my Ipod so I'll stick these CDs on it also. Was in the process of adding Little Charlie and The Nightcats so the Nighthawks tunes should fit in their real nice.

Just wondering what the neigbors will think when this see this old guy strutting up the road and making all kinds of funny moves while listening to an Ipod. smile    - - - and I mean funnnnnny!   Ah ... it will give them something to talk about for the morning.

Take care bro'

Ya gotta dance like nobody's watchin', buddy!!

The only way last night coulda been better, is if Jimmy Thackery was still playin' with 'em.....

Their original stuff is excellent too, but they absolutely nail the covers.  They did a version of "Mystery Train" last night that woulda put a smile on Paul Butterfield's face, God rest his soul.....
