Topic: Little Feat Rockpalast 1977 video.Help!!!

Dear friends,

I need your help!!

George brought this video-tape from Cathy to me to put it on DVD. It's not for sale anywhere. We were both looking for it for years and Cathy had this new one still in the closet!! Aftre putting it on DVD I can copy it for everyone who wanted one.. 7 already!

But now the problem:

I copied it from my video to my pioneer DVD recorder, like I always did before. I geo the image on TV during recording , everything o.k. I thiught.
But when recording was finished only the sound is on the DVD NO IMAGE! Only black image with 2 horizontal lines at the bottom. I thougt some connection was wrong, checked it but looked well.
Then I went to a professional audio-repear company where did put videotapes on DVD for 5 Euro. Same thing. The man never had this befor and whatever he tried: NO IMAGE again.
He thought maybe it comes because it is an American tape and and use another system or is it protected what is not said on the cover.
We just don't know how to do it.

I had another idea: cpoy it from video to another video an from that one to DVD. Same result on the second videotape.

Hi Andre , This is a Problem that i've come across numerous times on video's of live shows from the states , it seems that US Video tapes are recorded in a different format to ours even on the old VHS , I Have got round this problem a few times by Purchasing a Region Free DVD/VHS Twin Recorder to an External Plain old Video Recorder , Link up with Leads and it works , ( but as i said only on some )
The Reason it wont work straight off i guess putting the Video in My Region Free and Recording it on the Same machine in The DVD Tray is it picks up the Difference in Formats and has that rolling effect with 2 lines at bottom ....
Hope that all made sense and good luck with ( like me ) trying to convert every live music show you want in a decent library collection

Umm  Maybe try a different format of DVD +/- R -RW etc.  If that doesn't do it.  I'll try it for you guys on mine.  Send copy...not original.
