Topic: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

All right....who's got their tickets? This will be the best movie ever! Ever! If some of you guys are thinking, "Well, it's a comic book movie, and I don't do those," trust me, it's going to be WAY MORE than your standard comic book superhero movie. One for the ages! And how can you not see a film with such great talent as Christian Bale, the late Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenhaul, Eric Roberts, and Anthony Michael Hall? That's a cast TO DIE FOR. Not to mention that Heath Ledger's last performance is going to be truly memorable. They're not talking Oscar for this guy just because he died, the Joker is going to wind up being one of the best villains of all-time, right there with Hannibal Lecter and Darth Vader (before he was castrated in Episodes I-III).

Here's the HBO special on the movie. Kind of gives you an idea of what it's like without any spoilers.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

Looks like the kind of flick you need to see in the theater to get the full impact of the production. I'm more excited about the new X-Files movie. SCULLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

I heard the Ebert and Roper review yesterday. They said it's the best movie of the year, and the best superhero movie ever made. They also said Ledger should get the oscar for this performance.
I'm psyched to see it!

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

And those guys know what they're talking about. I thought when I saw Iron Man, that it was going to be the greatest superhero ever....for about two months.

Ditto...easily in my top 3 ever.  I'm going to see it again today.  I won't go into details so it's not spoiled for everyone else but it's a killer flick.   Do yourself a favor and go see it.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

I've seen it rated in different places as 2 stars, 3 stars and 4 stars (out of 4). Strange. One place rates it right up there with the Godfather. I don't know about that. Will be seeing it shortly.

It's that good Deez? Any details you wish to share? I've got to get some tickets!

No details please!

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

I will not share any details. You'll have to go enjoy this for yourself. I will say: Bale IS Batman. Heath Ledger, God rest his soul, has done such an ultimately definitive Joker that no one, I repeat, NO ONE, will want to touch that role with a ten foot pole for 20 years. Aaron Eckhart plays a wonderful Harvey Dent/Two Face. Everyone else (Caine, Gyllenhaul, Morgan Freeman) are so perfect in their roles. This movie is amazing. Those people who are rating it 2 two stars are retarded. There, I said it. I don't apologize for it. They're retarded, and they should have to watch Gigli five times a day for the rest of their lives. AMAZING.

Yes Bale is Batman and Gary O is Jim Gordon.  Michael Caine is the definitive Alfred and Morgan Freeman is just the bomb period.

Go rent Equilibrium to see Bale in action.  Chilling.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

Yes jeff, you're right about Gordon. Gordon is almost just as much a lead character as Batman is. He's PERFECT. Gary Oldman is amazing.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

Saw it.  Very good. Wouldn't call it one of the best though. 3½ stars out of 4.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

Huge opening day for the film. 18 million from the midnight showings on Thursday, 66 million on Friday, a record for opening day. Went and saw it again today, my mind hasn't changed. It's THE best comic book movie ever, and one of the best movies I've ever seen. I gotta go see it again.
