Topic: Joan Armatrading New Album
Just bought Joan As new Blues Album.
Really nice.
Laid back simple Blues. No guitar hystrionics (which I sometimes like).
Just a new artist for me.

You've got to get the first, "Joan Armatrading", song "Down to Zero". Powerful!!!
Hey Ges,
Glad to hear you discovered Joan, I'll have to catch up on her latest efforts. I saw her in a small club back in the 70's when her self-titled album (same one Cathy is referring to)was starting to really take off. What an incredibly big and powerful voice with matching lyrics. You absolutely have to go back to her start and get this album. Always liked that line about mixing the water with the wine...

I cannot discuss Joan here as this is a pseudo-family forum...But ...man....ahhh She is so awesome!

I always tape "Live From Abbey Road" on Sundance every Sat night. This week one of the three artists was Joan. Granted, it's been years since I heard any new Joan, but I was blown away by her abilities on the ELECTRIC guitar. I only knew her as an acoustic player. She ususally plays a Strat (her words), but had a Tom Anderson custom that looked like a Strat with a wide neck. I'm not a player so that's to my ameteur eyes. Her playing was good enough to make me order this CD. I always forget about her when we discuss female artists, but I love her deep voice. Can't wait to give it a listen. Cathy
Yeah she can get down plugged in too. Did not know she was on Sundance this week. I don't have it anymore anyway, but woulda watched for sure. Thanks Cathy.
