Topic: Ana Popovic...

I'll be seeing her at Moondog's this Sunday, so I figured I'd start gettin' pumped up.....so to speak.....

http://www.anapopovic.com/_index.php

There's a lot of nice long clips on her site from "Still Making History", and she's doin' a pretty thorough US tour for those interested in checkin' her out.....

I'll let y'all know how it went after the show, if I don't melt on a Moondog's bar stool.....

Re: Ana Popovic...

Hi Jim! Ana is Bob (Tarus52)'s "girl". Moondogs and Kclingers in Pa. must be on the same tour map, because she'll be there Weds. 7/16. She sure can rock for such a little girl! She's got a new baby touring with her. According to Bob, she lives in Amsterdam. Have a great time, try not to lust and report back!   please....      Cathy

Re: Ana Popovic...

I'm a big fan of Ana's as well. We'll be seeing her in Fargo on the same bill with Joe and probably the night before in Minneapolis.

Congratulations are in order for Ana on the birth of her son Luuk - born May 5th!

Also, I think she's also got a new Gigliotti, but I haven't seen it yet.

Actually her contact info would be great. Otherwise I could just give you mine.

I'm starting Thesis writing for my MFA on Sunday, and I need reputable contacts to interview. I'm in contact with Back Door Slam, but Ana would be great, especially with her design background.

Let me know?
thanks!

She's playin' the same Wheeling gig as Michael Burks a couple weeks after Moondog's, too.

So I'll be "lusting from a distance" yet again.....(hi Bob!!)

I knew she was from Amsterdam, or thereabouts.  A friend of mine turned me on to her a couple years ago.  I like her style.....lotta guts, and a real sweet voice.....and has chops on the guitar too!!!

What night are you gonna be at the PBF?  If it's any night but Sunday, I'll take you guys to Moondog's after the show.....it's real close, and famous for musicians stoppin' in after the gig.....

Re: Ana Popovic...

Ana may live in Amsterdam, but I think she was born in Serbia. Good talent though smile, I'd be interested to read a review

"The recently formed Edinburgh Blues Club has identified an appetite for the personal communication between musicians and audience that the blues long ago perfected." The Herald Newspaper (Scotland)

Re: Ana Popovic...

I'm was going to catch her at Big Bull Falls Blues Fest this Summer.  I've yet to see her live.  Looks like we have other plans so I'll just have to watch my Ana! DVD instead.  Maybe next time.  I envy all of you are going to see her . . .

I had heard about Ana before but heard more from my bonabuddy Larry G.
i am hoping to get up to see her at Kclingers but being as I don't get out a whole lot I am not sure because I have waited longer to see Jim Suhler the following week. I plan to do both but i want to hear some Bad JuJu not cause any bad juJu by trying to let myself have too much fun. roll Wish they were playing in Towson it would be a no problem sorta thing.
Anyway Cathy, Bob, Carl, any of yous going?

Jane,
Can't make Kclingers,i will be seeing BDS on Monday 14 and Walter Trout on the 18th with Cathy,i will have to wait until Sept. to see Ana at Rams Head Tavern.

Re: Ana Popovic...

Bob, I've listened to the live cd you made for me and must confess to being a little underwhelmed. Maybe I need to listen again. roll
