I decided to check his blog because of the fires in Big Sur. Luckily it appears he's alright. There is an entry that is really funny I thought I'd share. Bad word warning!  Cathy

That would be a hell of a fire to reach Malibu from Big Sur. The Gap fire in Goleta, Santa Barbara area, is closer, but still not even close. Malibu is notorious for their canyon fires, but ironically they've been spared....so far. We're in the midst of another heat wave with off shore winds which don't favor the firefighters. Piss poor air quality pretty much all over the Bay Area.

The entry IS very funny, Cathy....... I can just see their little horrified faces...... not MY son.......

Of course, my mind is reeling off the possibilities...... sounds like a good game for a long car ride....... like a big ol' loop around the Texas triangle, perhaps  .......
