Topic: create your own Blues Festival

Leading up to next weekend's Doheny Blues Festival, I was wondering if you were able to book acts for an upcoming Blues Festival, who would you book?  I'll light this candle to get the party started.  Here's my list of performers I would want at my festival.....

Joe Bonamassa-  who else would you want headlining?
Wes Jeans
Albert Castiglia
Coco Montoya
Chris Cain
Walter Trout

I'm interested to see who others on the board would select.  This also helps me look into other performers I haven't heard before or just didn't know about.

HMMM...BFTB, to open, then Kenny Neal, then Tommy Castro, then Robert Cray & Bonnie Rait, then Eric Clapton & Buddy Guy, with a walk on by the King.   Then the Joe Bonamassa Boys could fry what's left of their brains and send 'em home limp.

If you gimme two days I could do better.

I think that blues fest in California is the one I would create, HOLY CRAP what a line up! I usually don't like the festivals because you sit there all day to hear 30 minutes of the person you like,but that will be an awesome Sat and Sun!!

In 1991 at The London Blues Festival, Crystal Palace I saw......in order of appearance:

John Hammond (with Charlie Musslewhite)
Albert Collins
John Lee Hooker
Robert Cray
..........in the sunshine with a cooler-box full of beer big_smile

Today...........Derek, Eric, Joe, Bonnie, Young Bob & John Mayer and the sun's gonna shine again wink
