This is a definate Hiatt cover, and not a cover of EC and BB. I know John Hiatt is a very big influence on Davy, and have read an interview saying that when he started playing live, that he played with a bunch of older guys(probably his old man and friends) playing John Hiatt covers. Personally I like the John Hiatt version over EC and BB, but both are still good. Saying that though I have seen on elive of BDS on Youtube and that is my fav one of the lot. I downloaded the new EP on Itunes and the version on there is closer to the original than the version I have seen live. Great tune, great lyrics, a gem I wouldnt have heard but for Davy and gang!!!
Almost cut my hair is the cover I enjoy most. They excel with that.
Here is a very good version of OSWB, acoustic in an interview somewhere.

I agree with you Tewk, I like Hiatt's version better than EC & BB, and here's one of the reasons why:

Wouldn't ya know it, Hiatt doesn't say "white chick" in the clip.....d'oh!!
I think the bottom line is, BDS treat all their covers with respect, and realize that John Hiatt is a freakin' lyrical genius.....if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Great clip you added! Davey's only been singin' for 2-3 years? Are you freakin' kidding me?? His singing is as good as his guitar playing!!!!!
btw, are women from the Isle of Man, minx??

He does so with his painfully shy demeanor as if he's thinkin' OK let's see if I can pull this off, but boy do they nail the covers every time.
Isn't that great, Dawg?? When I saw them, Davey would just be beltin' out somethin' like a seasoned pro, then sheepishly say "thank you" at the end. I swear the boy was blushin'.....

Like Cathy said, Davey channels the soul of a much older blues man.....
