Topic: Hi from JimmyI

Hi guys,

I have been told that I should give a little introduction as I am a newb here.

I've been playing guitar for 10years now, mostly classical, electric and acoustic stuff but not much blues sad. I've been brought to this site because I love what Joe is doing I mean man what a sound and style! My main registering motive is to try and get Jelly Roll tabbed out! I love one man and his guitar music, nothing shows how good a musician is than only being accompanied by one instrument!

So if any of you think you can or would like to help with the tabbing check out the thread,

Re: Hi from JimmyI

Welcome to the forum Jimmy. Gald to see you've found Joe.
Sorry, I can't help with your question though, only tabs I use clean the clothes!

Jimmy,

I will be of NO HELP regarding your tab issues, but I'm throwing out a big warm welcome to you instead.  My Dad and my brother were also both named Jimmy.  You're probably terrific too - I already KNOW you have great taste in musicians!!!

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: Hi from JimmyI

Hi Jimmy welcome to the forum. Yet another guitarist joins the family! You are in good company here. Are you a fan of John Martyn's? Hubby and I are big fans of his and saw him a lot in the seventies and eighties. Hard to believe that one man and his guitar can make the sounds he does. Brilliant.

Have fun here....Tripsy smile

Re: Hi from JimmyI

Wow, thats the best warm welcomes I've ever received on any forum! I feel like your all friends already! GSJ I know it was only a friendly suggestion smile.

Tripsy - I hadn't heard of John Martyn until 10mins ago when I was doing some googling on Jelly Roll! I think I'm gonna have to try out one or two of his albums. If you could only recommend one which one would it be?

Re: Hi from JimmyI

Wow!

First, welcome Jimmy. You've stumbled on a very special forum here. Very!

Wow again, because I've just read (heard) the name John Martyn for the first time in decades, and then remembered that I actually knew him in the late 60' and very early 70's when I lived in London. I have no idea how his music may have progressed since then, but I think Solid Air is maybe the best (known) of his early stuff.

RIP Iron Man
