Topic: Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat

A friend of the family's. Met him through Joe. Another Texas band. Been at it since Jesus was a baby. Better known for his work with George Thorogood but his band Monkey Beat is darn good band. Still waiting for Joe to throw some love Jim's way on a Daily cup of Joe.

He's going to be at Kclinger's in Pa. for the Weds. blues show on July 23rd. I really want to see him again!! I didn't pay enough attention when I saw him with GT at the Tampa Bay Blues Fest...tooo busy having lust in my heart.....But, he gets wonderful reviews from those w/o my affliction. George allows him to cut loose once a night if we are lucky. Monkey Beat is the full meal deal with Jim. He opened for Joe here a couple of shows and I wasn't able to pay much attention to him. I brought him in for a show at a small venue with a good PA and he was smokin.

anyway jim moody, i would put money on maybe Suhler isn't in the catalog of what Joe gets to pick from for that show. when i saw him last month i had asked him something about the sirius show and he told me that he is quite limited from what he can pick from.

Jim will also be back in Baltimore with the Destroyers in August but truthfully i am more looking forward to seeing Jim's band.

I can live with out seeing GT. I go to see Jim. George doesn't let him shine too much. I did take care of that catalog issue Jane. They have some Monkey Beat now. Joe is going to do a show and play some Monkey Beat he just hasn't gotten around to it yet.

Unfortunatley Jim had to cancel the dates in July including the OKC show. Personnel  problems not personal. Hope to reschedule. later this year.

I bought my copy direct from Jim at a show in Minneapolis last June. I highly recommend it!

Just an FYI...
Jim & Monkey Beat will be traveling Belgium with Jason Elmore & Hoodoo Witch.

I've known Jason for a couple of years and he and his band got Best Blues Band in Dallas this year.

He and Jim do quite a few acoustic gigs together.

This will be Jason & Hoodoo Witch's first "European" tour.

Vacation ... can't make any of these gigs sad ... would love to see Jim doing an acoustic gig.
