Topic: Minor league baseball anyone?

Out here in Sacramento, our AAA baseball team is "The River Cats" the affliate for the Oakland Athletics.....I try and hit 20 games a year...minor league baseball is so family oriented, I cant say enough great things about it...anyone else in the US got baseball fever?....just love it...going tommorrow tonight, The Portland Beavers are in town...their manager is my buddy from high school...always fun talking about our youth and how life has lead us

Go IRONBIRDS...that's Cal Ripken's team that is local and having a great year so far! The games at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md. are said to be a real family atmosphere, including being affordable! I'm red faced because I've never gone....off to the cycling thread.....Cathy

Biggest bang for the buck in my area is the Daytona Cubs at the Jackie Robinson Stadium,  Completely affordable and you see some wicked baseball.

     You forgot to mention every Sat. night they have a fireworks display after the game at Raley Field. There'll be plenty of fireworks on Fri. July 11th when Skynyrd plays there again.

You know I'm right there with you on the minor league baseball.  Bob Costas was in the stadium last night, so I got to meet him, get an autograph, a handshake, and a hug.  He was very sweet.  And the I-Cubs stomped the Omaha Royals (Kansas City Royals).  It was a great night at the park.  I'll have to watch the video later, blocked here at work.
