Topic: tom waits
saw him this weekend in stl. great show. perfect theatre to see him in very beautiful(fox theatre). phenomenal band. waits is one eccentric beatnik. he really has stage presence and at a show like this you know the crowd absolutely is into the music. it was tom, his son on drums and upright bass player, keyboard player, and a horn guy who played clarinet, sax, harp, and i even think he had a flute at one point. he and the guitarist were both world class as was the bass player. i rarely noticed the keyboard player to be honest. most songs were played with full band sometimes waits joining in with a second guitar. there were several ballads played tom on piano with only the bass backing him. i only have four of his albums so i am no expert but if you even remotely like him see him live.
songs played i can remember. make it rain, get behind the mule, rain dogs, cemetary polka, what's he building in there, singapore, dirt in the ground. the first encore was goin out west it was awesome
If wine and pills were hundred dollar bills
