Topic: Where would you fly to?

How do......look it's like this, the wife gave me a couple grand and told me to jump on a plane and go anywhere I want ( guess it was for my good behavior when all hell broke loose here for 8 months)...anyhow I'm eyeing up that Sept 26th show in Dallas...oops , forgot to mention it's got Back Door Slam opening for the incredible Joe Bonamassa!.....got a sister in Ft. Worth, so lodging is covered...so what do yall think?...maybe I should go down to the local bar and buy round after round until they fall off there bar stools ( me no drinky, so maybe I film all my old croonies and have a few laughs on them)....no seriously I got to go giggin, it's been way to long and I love to travel to other states

Aching and Old.....Dave

Re: Where would you fly to?

My choice would be Dublin next month. Two grand will pay for a really nice trip for the weekend. smile

I'm just saying.

Re: Where would you fly to?

NO DEBATE..Get your tickets for Texas!!! BDS and Joe..Historic!!! You deserve it!! If all else fails you can always come to Maryland. You know you'll have fun! Regardless, it's nice to know life is back to normal at the Shred shed! Tell Deb we all think she's great! Your older and more achy sis, Cathy

Re: Where would you fly to?

It'd be Dallas for me too 4 sure, that's just one gonna be amazing evening for all who witness it! Of course, every Joe show is amazing, but this is doubly so for the presence of BDS. Just got to be done man......that's my two cents anyhoo!! cool

Plus there'd be plenty of change for further musical excursions......

Re: Where would you fly to?

Fly to OKC.

Catch Joe in OKC, then drive to Dallas for that show, on to Houston for that show, finish it off at the ACL fest in Austin with Joe on Sunday and fly home from Austin.

You should be able to get that done well under $2k.

Re: Where would you fly to?

The Texas Triangle!!!!
Susan and I are flying out to Texas and taking in all 3 shows big_smile big_smile big_smile   The ACL music fest will be a great way to top off seeing Joe for the third time in as many days (along with Blues Traveler, Racontours, and the Foo Fighters). It's a no brainer, you gotta do the Texas Triangle (check a map)!

Re: Where would you fly to?

If money was no issue (and there were at least a few dates in Scotland) I'd wait until the next UK tour. Take in a few shows, hopefully catch a soccer game in Alloa, look up some relatives, see the country and meet a few of the friends I've made through my association with the Street Team.

Re: Where would you fly to?

You could fly to Dublin to see Joe and then travel by train to Belfast and see that show.

Re: Where would you fly to?

I cant believe some of the smokin airline deals I've found online....I'm talking $200 round trip from Sacramento to Oklahoma City ( my neighbor Steve is moving back to Okie City tommorrow, what luck is that!)....I really need to check the vacation calender....Ive never been to Austin, got to spend a few days there, got 2 friends living there also...hmm....I better quit talking about going and just do it...I wonder if I can rent a Corvette ( 400 horse)....wait a minute Hertz has the Ford Shelbys ( 350 horse ) at some of there airports...ah forget it, better go with the car with comfortable seats, bulging disc are un forgiving...

"I think this all a dream"...better just stay home and work on the house sad

Weird, I must have messed up again...anyhow theres a story about both pilots on a commercial airliner that fell asleep...they set the plane on "cruise" and nodded off.....the flight tower thought the plane was highjacked, they somehow managed to wake them up, the plane was so far past it's landing spot that it had to turn around.  If I tell my brother this he definetly wont go with me, has to medicate himself to fly, I dont meen with booze either ( I got that boy sober for the first time in years, he always looked up to his older brother)....I'm seriously considering doing this mini "Joe tour"....I'll have this all finalized by this weekend!!....got to have me some of that angus beef, I think I'll see if the manager wants to challenge my 280lb brother, that man can eat a whole animal in one setting  smile

Re: Where would you fly to?

Hey Dave,
Let us know if you decide on the Texas shows.  Ken and I will be flying into Dallas.  We'll be spending a couple days there, then down to Stafford/Houston for a day, then to Austin for a couple of days, than back to Dallas to fly home. (3 Joe shows in 3 days.  It doesn't get much better than that.) It would be really cool to hook up with you.  We missed you last year in California.  We met JDawg in San Luis Obispo but I think he told us you chose the San Juan Capistrano show instead of SLO. hmm

Hope to see you in Texas.  I think David A. is also going.  It's really fun meeting fellow street teamers at these shows.  It will also be our first time seeing Back Door Slam.  It's three  months away and we're already getting excited.

Susan smile

Oh, My vote is FLY TO TEXAS!!!  lol
