Topic: Pledge from the Editor of Blues Review
I know you must think I'm on the payroll because of the way I rave about BR. But I'm also certain that you all know my "thing" is fostering up and coming players. There's a social war in the world of the Blues between the past and the future. We've had many a discussion here about that subject.
It seems the untimely death of Sean Costello has lead to some reflection, the end result being "..how can Blues Review better help get the word out about promising young artists".
It goes on to state that homage will still be paid to the past but... "So consider this our pledge to work harder to introduce you to artists you might not have heard but who have bright futures."
Blues Review has always supported Joe, even gave him a cover..(I have mine signed:))..I think I should refer them to our "Other Artists" thread for some ideas!
One final but NOT insignificant thing..If you subscribe you get a free sampler CD every other issue..I'm proud to say my band "Nothin But Trouble" has a song on the new one. Song #7.."$2.89 a gallon", a funny new song that is already way out of date!
So, for many reasons,( including Sonny Landreth on the cover which I forgot to mention)..this little gift in my mailbox has made me a very happy Blues Warrior! Cathy
