Well put Jim.

Jim,
Being one of those from Ohio that has seen Joe 13 times over the last 6-7 years, my observation is that his fan base has increased tremendously...The days of the 250-300 fan sellouts at Gilly's with Kenny and Eric were all a fun and intimate part of the ride that Joe has us all one...But he continues to grow and I believe that his music is reaching a wider and wider audience in Ohio and around the world...He is obviously having a blast with Bogie, Carmine and Rick...They definately seem to be hitting it on all cylinders both personally and professionally...I for one am thankful that I somehow found Joe and jumped on the ride...I can't wait to see where he takes us next...I'm already counting down the days to the rescheduled show at the FRAZE...I just hope that I can get the same seats!!!!
Bizzer
Speaking of changes...how about that weather?
Attended the Fraze show last nite...was very impressed with Joe & the band, along with the Fraze team, in the interest they all showed to the fans' well-being and safety. Yeah, those of us up front didn't want to lose our good seats, but we wanted to live to see our families (and of course the rest of this or the next JB show).
So, after hanging out in the bathrooms or cars for what seemed to be forever while the storm passed over, the few remaining rain-soaked fans, decked out in ponchos, were welcomed back to thoroughly enjoy another half hour worth of jams.
It was truly great... "Shadeless" Joe, and the guys, with the help of their crew, rocked out and insisted on making it worth the wait, even promising an additional make-up show. That's going above and beyond guys....as always.
I love the addition of the keys on stage and the band is spectacular. Yeah, I'd love to see them play Gilly's type gigs again, just coz to me, bluesy music is more deeply felt in that cozy, dim-lit room. The larger venues seem to lose some of the intimacy and INTENSITY of blues. Sometimes it gets lost in...I don't know...too much air?
Luckily, Joe's got PLENTY of intensity, so it's not reduced as easily.
Joe's music and band members may have changed to some, but sounds like to me, he is GROWING, EXPANDING his style and hopefully LIVING the life he wants to live...and it is his life.
Joe, be true to what you need to do. That goes for all of us!

Sketch,
I'm totally bumbed that I hung out at the restrooms until about 10:15 until we had enough of a break in the downpour to high tail it for our car...and in the meantime you were getting a bonus 30 minutes of Joe and the band...How cool is that...By the way, what did they play?...

Highwater Everywhere
Sloe Gin
Woke Up Dreaming
Just Got Paid/Dazed
WOW...I can't think of a better way to "blend" in with the 11PM Kettering curfew than to play Just Got Paid/Dazed for the residents...LOL...
Bizzer
Sorry you missed it Bizzar...it was fantastic! I think he set a speed record on "Woke Up Dreamin" trying to get in as much for us as possible before 11pm.
Gives you a good feeling inside to know you're a fan of a musician who treats people that well.
Note: Only thing missing was that siren during Sloe Gin...(Need that in there Joe; it's part of the story).
I saw Joe last night in Canton at the blues fest, and I was totally underwhelmed.
What happened to you Joe?
When I saw you back in early 2004, you were a MONSTER with your power trio!!!!
Now, you are trying to be some kind of crooner or something, and it does not work for me at all.
Dump the keyboard please and get back to your roots Joe.
First and only post?
HMMMMM
People call themselves fans of Joe, join HIS message board just to give him crap about not playing their favorite song, using keys on stage, ect. You wouldnt want him to branch out at all...maybe grow as a musician... just keep rewriting A.N.D.Y., playing the same set list the rest of his life, and hell just use the sparkle strat! Its that kind of thinking..If joe sold 6mil copies of his next studio album and became a household name...people would be saying "I was a fan of him before you, he sold out, yada yada yada." I mean come on he deserves a little more respect than that. The guy is doing what he loves to do and thats why he is able to bring such a amazing live show...just sit back and enjoy it and if you dont hear YOUR favorite song look it up on youtube!
The other night Joe went to grab another guitar and was told to leave the stage, he hung out through a thunderstorm, then came back on stage to jam for a handful of people, even kept an eye on his watch so he could play til the last minute, and after that stood in the drippy weather to meet some fans. Not even that hes going back there to play a make up date when he played about 2/3 of his set anyway. Give the guy a break. My point being I dont think he really cares about your negative opinions...an honestly its fine to have them, but maybe you should post them some other place! I understand why he would say something like "If I read any negative comments on this...."
Opinions are great we all have them but telling Joe what to do and the low shot about being a crooner was a little bit much! I hope to post a few clips from the other night onto youtube within the next few days...not great vid, but still cool.
I probably wont make the aug 18th show due to working that day, plus its a 300mile drive for me! Still even with 8 songs the other night...killer show!!!
Can I croon to y'all?
Not long and not the greatest quality...but ...

Truth: You can't please all of the people all of the time.
Forget who sang this, but it seems appropriate: You know you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.
