Yes, the Blue Goose is on Jefferson a little north of 11 mile, a great little blues club. Jim is usually there at least twice a month. Funny coincidence....i ran into Jim & his wife @ last years B.B. King show (with Joe as the opener)
@ D.T.E. (Pine Knob) we were both in the lower pavilion, i was watching his reaction to Joes set (although it was only like 25 minutes) he really seemed into it....i was hoping to ask him his opinion of Joe, but he left before i got a chance.
also if you ever get a chance to check out "McCarty / Grand" ( Jim McCarty & Jeff Grand ) those 2 will absolutely
blow you away...down & dirty blues.
I already posted this in the 'Other Artists' section, but since you brought it up here, and were wondering, here's what Jim had to say about Joe when I talked with him a couple of weeks ago :
Speaking of modern guitarists, have you ever heard Joe Bonamassa? Now there's a player who can wail...
Jim McCarty : I've got a couple of his CD's. I saw him at B.B. King's, and I saw him at Pine Knob last year, opening for B.B. King. He's hot as a pistol. I told him, "You're one of the best young players I've seen in a long time. You've got the whole package. You've got the chops, the voice and the stage presence". If he doesn't burn out, it'll be really interesting to hear him when he's about 40. He smokes. His chops are unbelievable. He's scary. (Laughs) The thing is, he's got the voice too, not only has he mastered the guitar, he's the whole package.
