Topic: Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh, BDS

Come on Pittsburghers let's get out to Hartwood acres Sunday and show some support for Back Door Slam.  Show starts @ 7:30, it's free and an all ages. Dean, Mellisa, Nico and co. COME ON DOWN. Sunday June 22nd, Haven't seen any print ads or any advertizing at all for this show so I'm kinda worried they won't get a nice turnout.  Barbara, Bill,  anyone pack a lunch and sit in the grass. It's gonna be a beautifull day.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Re: Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh, BDS

Thanks Roy. I am so spyched for this show. More so than any one I can remember. I'm hoping to borrow my sisters hi def Sony camcorder. If I can get hold of it and if the boys don't mind a little video I got your address, that is if it comes out good.  Got the wifey baking some goodies for the boys.  How do they travel? Do they have a tour bus or just a van/trailer?  I really want them to feel welcome here and am praying for future dates.  Weather looks promising for the weekend as well.

Jeff,

Last couple of times I've seen them they are in a rented White Freightliner extended van type rig, but that was before their last tour break. They're not hard to find as they love to mingle before and after their shows. Their crew is Evan/tour manager, Todd, and Steven. Tell them all that J Dawg says hello for me please. I know you'll have a Slammin' good time.

Re: Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh, BDS

This is gonna be a great weekend buddy.....just sorry you can't make Canton.....

Maybe we oughta take the BDS boys down to Moondog's and let 'em get acquainted.....

Re: Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh, BDS

Thought about calling Moondog and telling him about the boys. Maybe he would check them out and make them a part of the Blues fest. Or a late nite jam at Moondogs would work as well.

Damn! I wish I was heading there with you Jeff. You're going to have a great time!! During the show, calm yourself and watch just how well they work together. Davy's eye contact with Ross and Adam's stoic presence on bass. OK, I'm about to say something that I've been meaning to say for a while............

These guys remind me of a trio from many, many years ago. Their style is a little different, but the sound is just as splendid. Any guesses? OK, the old group had a bass player by the name of Jack, a drummer by the name of Ginger and a lead guitarist by the name of Eric. There I said it! So tomorrow, put a little Cream in your coffee and make sure you Slam The Back Door, or if you prefer, Back Door Slam!!!!

Roy

P.S. I'm serious, the ARE that good!

Re: Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh, BDS

yep, these guys could go far.  they are just too talented not to.  i think they are the last hope or rather only current hope for a blues/rock band to really achieve widespread public success.  god they just make my day a little brighter.  it's the kind of music that makes you happy to be alive.

"all i know is that ima lonely back here and i can love you better than him."

you do not get a better blues quote than that.  i am singing that all day every day.

by the way i just made my dad a blues mix and put a bds track on there.  he loves it and also made the cream comparison.
