Topic: Airbourne

I recently got myself a copy of this new band Airbourne's debut album "Runnin' Wild" and to put it frankly they rock. big_smile If you think AC/DC your in the right area. Hit up some youtube there should be some videos if you need further verification lol.

I was looking at their tour dates and found they had a show in Belfast on the 18th June. Unfortunately i have my final exam on the 19th sad. I then check later in the year and they are back in Belfast on the 11th November. I quickly check the Joe dates as i'm going to the manchester one and I glance quickly at november and see 11/09/08. Of course silly me forgetting you guys write the dates the wrong way tongue all i saw was the 11 and was like damn thats unlucky lol.

I think that could be a concert to go to. My ears aren't gonna like me for that lol.

Check em out if you like that sorta hard rock sound.

Rock 'n' Roll cool

Re: Airbourne

GREAT band, Matt!  I would love to see them. They were touring with another great band Endeverafter and unfortunately I couldn't make the show.  I've heard a lot of good things about their shows so if you can go, do so!

Love this video from them:

BTW thanks to Keith for turning me on to them.  wink

Re: Airbourne

yes, they remind me of Jet, Wolfmother, and/or even the Darkness.  It's refreshing to hear it.

Re: Airbourne

If you're in the UK and listen to Nicky Horne on Planet Rock, he is a fan of Airbourne and plays them a fair bit.

Re: Airbourne

I heard them on the Cover CD from an issue of Classic Rock magazine. They sounded very ac/dc and nothing wrong with that smile

Another good band on that CD(I am going by 1 song) was Glyder - Gamblers Blues

Re: Airbourne

I've seen Glyder. The attended a Thin Lizzy tribute night here in Scotland. In some respects their music is quite like Lizzy's. Airborne indeed sound like AC/DC!

Re: Airbourne

Have seen Glyder myself quite a few times over the last couple of years they are a superb band and don't get the reconsignation they deserve.  Their song Neutral Coloured Life is just pure Thin Lizzy and worth checking out.  My brother is good friends with some of the guys from the band so have had a few beers with them and they are a great bunch.  As for Airbourne love them too maybe i'll get to their up and coming gig in November see you there Matt.

If you all like the Darkness why not check out the Stone Gods they have risen from the ashes of the Darkness and rock like a b*****d.  Dan Hawkins is guitarist for them quite a mix of styles from ACDC to Metallica.  Below is a track from there new cd.

Glyder are fantastic. Very Thin Lizzy like, but on their second album, 'Playground For Life' they're starting to develop their own sound. One of the best albums of this year. And for the duration of the summer, you can download 6 full tracks(including "Gamblers Blues") from both of their albums legally and free from the band's MySpace page :

Re: Airbourne

Another cd I picked up from the top 50 of 2008 (Classic Rock Mag.). This cd rocks  reminds me of a mix of AC/DC and High N Dry period Leppard. I'm likeing this cd although listening to the lyrics is making me feel a little old.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.
