Dear Eva, I'm sorry that I can't join this pro-German team love-in. I would rather that Holland plays against any other team than Germany, so I cannot bring myself to support your team today. The German national team is (for me) a bit like the Yankees for most US baseball fans.
i think its funny how football and soccer get compared just cause they have the same name even though they are so different you might as well compare em to basketball or volleyball since they have nothing to do with each other. i like both. the rugby comparison is laughable, just admit that football is better then move on. i mean if padding is for sissies take off the damn shinguards am i right make up yer mind boys.

It´s better that I wasn´t able to watch the game obviously - they lost 1:2 agaist Croatia ... my nerves wouldn´t have survived that!
Oh well, I hope this was only a "wake up call" for our guys and we will win against Austria on sunday. We HAVE to ...

Words fail me. Managed to see the last 30 minutes in the hotel room on a groovy flat WIDE screen....alas, the hotel doesn't know of any Dutch bars we could visit (or French bars for taunting purposes).
Holland were nothing like this good in qualifying, so my only explanation for this devastating upturn in form is the good luck that Cathy has brought me.

Just saw the second half, but that was enough to see HOW good they´re playing ... if your team keeps on playing like that you´ll win the Championship in the end. If Germany´s knocked out sometime I´ll cheer for my Dutch friends instead - if we ever play against each other though, we´ll fight it out till the bitter end !

I agree with you Michael, Eva and George it was a brilliant game to watch. France played very well too but Holland scored the goals when they were needed.
France didn't and that made the difference.
But beautiful goals, holland attacks very well and as they say: Attack is the best defense.
3-0 against worldchampion Italy
4-1 against vice worldchampion France.
Brilliant score of course, but I know Holland too, there is always a big chance that they have an offday and it's over. Happened many times in the past.
The Dutch were always good players but the characters..............

Dutch look great so far, not surprising really, they alwasy seem to play the best Football, would be nice to see them go all the way, shame my all time fav Dennis Bergkamp(I am Arsenal Fan) isnt there to share the glory, but Van persie is flying his flag
I love the look of the Spanish team though, although tonight was not the best game, this team has talent dripping out of it in all areas, when Cesc Fabreags and Xabi Alonso are on the bench you know you are in trouble !!!

I think Turkey was great yesterday. Unbelievable how they changed the game. It was pure energy!!! I saw the game in a Turkish bar with a hell of crying, shouting, celebrating, dancing, Turkish music, drinking free raki until early morning. Well, I would like to see a game like this tonight from our German boys.......But after all Holland will make it: they are playing so smart and playfull - you can really get their spirit and joy.
