Topic: Back Door Slam Tears Down the Wall at Buddy Guy's

All I can say is WOW!
BDS was  phenomenal last night and played to a raucous, upbeat crowd that hung on every song and every note.
You could tell that the guys were excited to be at Buddy Guy's and playing in front of a sold out crowd.
I'll never remember the setlist, but here's something pretty close, maybe not in order:
Outside Woman Blues
Heavy on my mind
Gotta Leave
Riding with the King
Too Good for Me (acoustic)
Come Home
Back Door Slam
Redhouse...yes, Redhouse!!
Tear down the Wall
Almost Cut my Hair
What in the World

BDS also had a special guest on stage for What in the World (Steve Arvey: http://www.stevearvey.com/bio/index.html). According to Davy, they met when Davy was 13 years old and playing in a blues contest. Steve stayed in touch over the last 7 years and, having Chicago roots, joined BDS on stage for one of the encores. He's a fine player and it looked like they were having fun.

There was a 10:30PM Blues Jam after the BDS show (which ended at 10PM). Edit: As Steve mentions below, on our way out, I was walking out the door as Buddy Guy was headed in. We literally crossed paths at the door. We were at our car and decided to head back in...glad we did! Davy joined the band (http://www.jimmyburnsband.com/) on stage and played another 3 or 4 songs. Great treat for us and for Davy too...he looked thrilled to be up there playing with Mr. Burns.

Sounds like a great time!  They're playing near me next month at a music festival and I'm so looking forward to seeing them!

She's nineteen years old is a Muddy Waters song too. Sounds like a great night to have been there - whish I'd done the same as the gentleman from England! Maybe when he gets home he can join us on here!

Thanks Bill and Steve, for the additional takes on last night's festivities.  WOW!!  So -  I see the fun didn't stop after the boys smoked the crowd for nearly two hours.  Boy, oh boy!  What a NIGHT!!!

Coupla things about the videos:

1.  GREAT find EVA!

2.  Who are the ladies who are CHATTING throughout most of them??  And, WHY do people DO that??

3.  It looks like the video came from Steve Arvey himself.  He must have had someone shooting it for him.

4.  Roy, I think that is THE funniest thing in the world that YOU were captured, unknowingly on someone else's video, which our Eva happened to find, and then POST to this thread!!!  Too much!!

Can't STAND going to see an artist perform and people act like they're at freakin' Starbucks....if you want to talk, stay HOME!

Tuning that out....great performance by Davey and the boys.....can't wait 'til next month in DC.

That was so f**king annoying. This was not a one song conversation. They talked through the entire show.
I never saw them, but I could hear them. I believe they were sitting at Roy's table, since his review mentions "the three lovely young ladies" that joined them at their table talking through songs.
I was at least 20 feet away and could hear them, so they weren't even trying to be quiet.
What a lack of respect! Roy, they couldn't have been Chicagoans...they must have driven in from Milwaukee. LOL
