Re: Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones Perform With Foo Fighters At Wembley

Hi Keith,

Thanks for that link. WOW!  Foofighters definitely on the radar...I make a few comments about Dave being a screamer and he goes off and plays with my 2 EVER all time bands (or part of them)....the Beatles and Led Zeppelin....OK Dave I hear ya'...

Anyway, very cool....next thought coming to mind would be how cool it would be to get Jimmy and JPJ to show up at a Joe show!!!  smile smile smile Let's just dream about that one...come on Kevin, get your mojo working on this...Jimmy is dying to play while Plant is off doing his thing.

John Paul Jones is the most underrated musician of this century.  Let there be no question.  I watched How the West Was Won last night, all of it, and then this thread appears.

Kevin Shirley shows a little voodoo work on a DVD.

JPJ is amazing. "I HAVE NOT YET BEGUN TO PLAY BASS!"

There tends to some hate for the Foo Fighters a lot of the time, but I will say this: Led Zeppelin was hated on during their career, as have the Stones. You're not a great band if you don't have detractors. Like Wayne Campbell famously said, "Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees."

I wish it was the entire song.

Taylor Hawkins rocks. As far as I'm concerned, he's the best thing that's ever happened to Dave Grohl.

Tonight at 0.45 Rockpalast broadcasts a show from  the festival at Weeze with the Foo Fighters and Beck. Not Jeff!!

It's on WDR 3.

I was at Wembley Stadium..........the night before!!!! Was gutted when I found out I'd missed this!!! Had a great time anyway, but that would have been some serious icing on the cake for me.

Hey Paul,

I'm feeling for ya'... wink

A dj was talking this morning on classic vinyl after she played a song by Terry Reid.  She said previously Jimmy Page had asked him to be his Robert Plant, before Plant was in the picture.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Reid
I would rather see a reunion tour with a substituted Plant, than none at all! I f anyone gets any other footage that shows Jimmy better, please post.  Thanks.

Thanks Angela, the more I think about it, the worse I feel. On top of that, they played two of my favourite Zep tracks too. Never mind!! Have tried to find better footage of this but have only found dodgy camera phone videos, which don't really do it justice. You do get an idea of the electric atmosphere though. The hairs stand on end whenever I see any footage now. Was a special night on the Friday, but more so the Saturday......:(
