Hi George,
Sounds like you're getting a real mixture of weather over there. I agree with you about 'Saving Grace'...A very funny film. The two shop ladies had me in fits!

Dear Diary,
The last couple of days have (literally) been 'warming us up' to prepare for this weekend. Current temperature on Cathy's deck is 100 (38c) in the sun, and it's going to get worse. There is no wind to speak of here, though there better be some down on the river, where we're heading to shortly.
We've been able to enjoy the cauldron again the last two nights - entirely with artificial bubbles BJJ!
Hard to comprehend that tonight will be my last night here, the end of my great Maryland adventure. We're off to Virginia early tomorrow so that we'll be sure to be at the front of the line for getting in at the Birchmere. We'll be staying locally after the show, then Cathy will drop me at Dulles on Monday from where I will fly to Indy to see my kids.
No time for sadness yet though, because tomorrow we're going to experience the climax of my visit together - Joe live!!!!
I'll report on the river tonight if we make it back alive.
Voor Nederlandse lezers - Cathy is al wat woorden aan het oefenen, maar kan (uiterraard) ons "sch" niet uitspreken, dus in plaats van 'schatje' heeft ze 'poepie' geleert!
What?? Cathy is practicing her Dutch pronunciation??

Of course! She needs to know how to say a few important things before she comes to visit me in Sin City in September.
I just can't believe
that time has flown so quickly
for our G and C
Hopefully their minds
have captured many moments
to SAVOR later
Sweet climax with Joe
and some Bonabuddies too
fun for all, I'm sure.
New countdown will start
Until September we'll wait
when C goes to G..........
We've had great fun too
and are lucky to have shared
in your joyous time
Mmmwwaaa and much love to you both,

Glad you two are having so much fun together.
Dutch is indeed a weird language for those who don't speak it.
Have fun at the show, enjoy it and eachother!
Ohoh, it´s THE day !! Have so much fun today you two - I´m sure Joe and the guys will give their best while playing in front of the very first JB forum couple!! Joe, you can be really proud of this forum
Cathy - I really hope you´re coming over to old Europe in September ... maybe we can see that Devon Allman show together with Andre and Geko?! That would be so cool !
Thinking of you in envy tonight , Eva

Let op ouwe, ze kan maar een poepie hebben!
We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Joe........the heat is already unbearable, thank God for airco
Neither of us has a laptop so I don't know if I'll be able to post after the show, unless the hotel has a pc available for patrons. If not, I'll be checking in tomorrow very late from Indy.
Goodbye Maryland......:(
bittersweet............. (sniff, sniff) ........

Standing in the Marriott lobby, can't say much for now except WOW!
A great show, met lots of forum buddies, saw Joe and the boys afterwards and got lots of stuff signed. More news from me late tomorrow night.
At the risk of repeating myself (I left this same message on the other Birchmere post)..... Yippeeeeeee!!! Sounds like FUN!!!! And, I do mean SOUNDS like FUN - since my phone rang this evening as I was bbq-ing, and, after my brain adjusted to the LOUD sounds coming out of the receiver, I realized, to my delight - THAT'S NOT JUST LOUD STUFF - THAT'S JOE!!!! "HIGH WATER EVERYWHERE" ............. with the occasional whoop or 'oh yeah' in the background. Very nice indeed. A WHOLE SONG!!!
Now, I must say, that's my new preferred way of spending any given evening at home - listenin' to Joe - from ONE coast to ANOTHER!!! Thank you Cathy. LOVE YOU!!! Sleep tight. Sweet dreams. Talk to you tomorrow. Night George. Love you too!!
Libby
P. S. Are you going to make me wait for two weeks like I made you wait for the Novella de Doheny??
I was thinking of you guys yesterday evening (which was probably yesterday afternoon on your side of the pond) and really got excited for you all - then I went to sleep and guess what happened: I dreamed of Joe playing "Bridge to better days" in a venue I haven´t seen before (so I guess it was the Birchmere! ) !
I´m not making this up, I really dreamed that ... so maybe all your "good vibes" were in the air at that time .
Waiting for your review .........
Eva
So many Birchmere topics to reply to, but it's so late and I'm knackered.
Just to quickly report that I spent a wonderful afternoon with Cathy and Tarus52 (Bob) in a Virginia mall watching Holland beat Italy 3-0 in their European Championship opener, a totally unexpected result, one which was my first big gobsmack of the day.
After the game we headed for Dulles, where I said goodbye to Cathy (sniff) till Friday and flew off to my kids in Indy. The second major gobsmack of the day was the storms around Indy as we came in to land - I have NEVER seen so much lightning, never mind being so close to it in a plane - a very spooky and unnerving experience.
I actually felt cold in the plane wearing only shorts, a nylon Holland football shirt and in bare feet - and I actually enjoyed feeling cold for the blissful contrast with the preceding unbearable days!
Must sleep now as it's my grand-daughter's birthday tomorrow - my comments on the Birchmere show and a very nice pic to follow when I have the time.
Thanks for the message and enjoy the kids and give them a hug from me!

Thank you Andre! I did - they said, 'who's Andre?' - so I explained. *wink*
