Michael it's only fair to tell you as we did Phil, this post is very tongue in cheek. I've been listening to that live CD this afternoon on my travels at work, that funky motha' does SMOKE!!! I spoke to Shred yesterday and told him Bluezman was trying to get Lance some gigs here, as Lance has been calling 3 or 4 times a day and it spun out of control, when it got back to  to Bluezman we both had a good yuck over the whole mess. Gotta run as I'm muti-tasking working and trying to pack for a campout and Coloma Blues Live Sat. with my first encounter with Albert Cummings and others.

I guess I should rephrase then. Once I listen to Lance Lopez, Philip Sayce, Vince Converse, Anthony Gomez, etc... I just go back to Joe Bonamassa. It is good music, it's just that my jaw doesn't hit the floor like Joe's music does. So, take nothing away from these guys. I guess I'd just rather listen to Joe. Or Back Door Slam. lance, joe, stoney curtis band, craig erickson, wes jeans, some mcgarvey and back door slam (theyre not there yet but i can tell they will be)  all make about every part of my body hit the floor.  like it is honestly disgusting how good these guys are at guitar it really does not seem possible to have this much command of anything.  it is totally insane.

i guess i didnt fully read what you said.  if you are a pretty straightlaced guy i guess stick to joe and bds but if not loosen up have beer and see all the really heavy stuff that is out there cause man it is just phenomenal you will not regret it.

and yes i will say his live material is better than his albums.  however they are still better than damn near every album that will come out this year, came out last year, will come out next  year, etc.  every  real guitarist is way better in concert.  thats just how it is you can see holy **## a human really was doing what i heard on the album and more....his albums kick **** listen to wall of soul and tell me he doesnt have "it" if so i will honestly mail you 50 dollars he is that good.

I went to work and told everyone who have the compilation  disc I burned of LL ( from my good buddy Pittsburgh Jeff)....people are going nuts!!!, we may have to carpool to make it to Petaluma ( 2 hours from Sactown).....I got to drop by one of my favorite little clubs on the way home today, gonna try and see if the manager is in...Lance would love this place!!..oh yeah, it's 8 minutes from my front door...it's called "The Boardwalk" in Orangevale CA....many a guitar monster have come through there...of course, I got plenty of Joe Bonamassa advertising to do also, promised Jdawg I'd help him out...gonna work Sactown for awhile...

I think I'm the only Wisconsin native who doesn't like beer. But for the record, I'd see LL if he ever came to my town. My first impressions are rarely accurate. I thought JB wasn't going to be anything special before I saw him in concert...BOY was I wrong.

I went there last week and being a contractor myself as is Albert I clicked on a link on his myspace relating to his constuction projects and it took you to a list of porn sites, not homes he had built.I want to find out if somebody hacked his site or what the deal was. Anyhoo I'll say hi from all the Bonabuddies, I'll be sportin' the new Live shirt at the gig for all to see. No you're not alone - I'm also a Wisc native and hate beer (sorry guys like Roy!) but
I drink enuf Diet Pepsi to make up for it right? 
LL is fantastic - I'd love to see him in Wisc - or Joe for that matter - or McGarvey -

I might still go but I got VSB tonight and a got loose ends to tie up for LL as you know the BSD thing cant happen now cuz of there Lands fest contract wont let them do gigs in the area 3 months before and 2 months after or be at least 350 miles away bummer thought about play under a different name but as you know thats a big No No any way Daves heading east after that gig to do some recording with Pete Frampton in Nashville and there BA did promise me Cd realese date the frist part of next year a the Sweetwater so its all good

My buddy Jeff in Pitts turned me on to LL, and he far excelled in person at the Dallas Guitar Fest about 3 years back.
He can melt your face!
He does stretch out his riffs nice and long. No quickies for Lance. He delivers a lot of notes for your $$.
Plays upside down Strat lefty style, and has a great time on stage.

By all means GO!!
