Topic: tom waits

well i dont know if thre are any fellow waits fans here who have seen him in concert.  anyway i love him and even though the tickets were expensive as hell i decided to get a pair as this is waits he doesnt tour a lot and even this tour is only hitting ten dates in the country and one is only an hour and a hlaf drive for me.  anyone seen him in concert want to tell me what to expect?

I have not had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Waits live, however, one of my best friends (a Waits FREAK) sent me this video clip a month ago, in which he explains HOW his tours are planned, etc.  You should enjoy this...............

Gash I really wanna see him but 85 dollar tickets and a five hour drive are making it look kinda like its not gonna happen.  Definitely envy all you guys who can.

You could probably see Scarlett Johanssen for a fraction of that.
(Scarlett's first album was a widely criticized collection of Tom Waits songs).

It's been many years, but I saw him at the Academy of Music in Phiily. I think he's the only musician that was allowed to smoke during the entire show! It amazes me that he still has a voice!! He was gravely even back then. He is a true American Classic. "Looking For The Heart of Saturday Night" is a wonderful tune. Please let us know how he's holding up and have a blast!    Cathy
