Topic: Jonny Lang at "A Taste of Pinellas" in St. Petersburg, FL

I finally got to see Jonny Lang last night in for the first time.  It was an incredible show and it was FREE.  It was an outdoor charity event to help fund a new Children's Hospital and it was held on the St. Petersburg Waterfront at Vinoy Park.

I have to say that despite the heat, which was in the 90's when we arrived about 5:30 p.m., this may have been the best show I've ever seen (except for Joe, of course).  wink

This guy really puts his soul into his performance and that voice...  Oh my Gosh, just incredible! This is from memory but he played alot from his new record "Red Light", "Bump In The Road", "One Person At A Time" and "Anything Is Possible" but his final encore was "Lie to Me" and he just killed it.  A couple of the other artists we saw were "The Dive Bar Stalkers" aand "The Damon Fowler Group".  Also, very good.

Anyway, you may enjoy the pictures I took of the festival.  The better ones of Jonny Lang are towards the end. The best way to view these pics it to click on slideshow, but you want to be sure Effects are "OFF" or part of the picture may be cut off.  To be sure Effects are "OFF", mouse down below the picture and a tool bar will pop up.  On the left side you will see "Effects: ON/OFF".  To toggle the Effects click on "ON" and it should change to "OFF".

Welcome back Sue & Ken.  Bring any rain?  Thanks for the scene and the pix.  I'm glad young JL is still putting on 'em.

P.S. Can't wait to see him with Bonnie Raitt at that same theatre this year!

Geez Roy,
That sounds like an incredible evening.  Bonnie Raitt and Jonny Lang at the same time?  Be sure and report back.  I want to hear all about it.

I remember he also played one my favorites of his: "There's Gotta Be A Change" also known as "I'll Play The Blues For You".  Great song.

P.S. Jeff, If a rain dance would have helped, believe me I would have done it.
