Re: Mason Profitt

Patty, I was born and raised around Chicago and I loved seeing Mason Profitt live in concerts! I think I still have some of their vinyl. Why can't I give away or sell the records and tapes collection instead of moving them around? That stuff is heavy!

I think I may have some pictures of them but the labeling system / organization of the pix leaves a lot to be desired so I may never find those. Seems like I saw them at Harry Hopes in Cary, Il., and set my camera right on the acoustic grand piano and took some pictures that way. I think they also used to play at the community college that I was going to.

Last I heard some of the guys were playing Christian music.

I have a correction to make. I took a quick look through the vinyl but don't have Mason Profitt anymore. I definitely did see them play live though. The band I was thinking of was another country rock band called Heartsfield and I still have their albums and no turntable to play them on.

More rock and roll trivia for those of you in or from the midwest. Does anybody remember a band named Fuse? This was the band that Rick Neilsen and Tom Peterson were in that evolved into Cheap Trick. I used to see those guys rocking out in the clubs. If anybody has that CD I am interested in getting it. How about the Flock?

Bill, Now I'm living and working in San Jose, CA. AKA Silicon Valley. I used to live in Aurora, IL. (Wayne's World) and still have family in the area but I escaped in 1980 when I moved to Colorado.  Been on the Left Coast since 1989.

Talk about taking a trip in the "way back" machine! Thanks for the journey Patty.
Gr8ful Fred...if you're from Cary, we're almost neighbors.
