Saw the "red rocker" on his VOICE OF AMERICA tour back in 1984 (love the casette cover (that is what i have) of him paratrooping onto the whitehouse lawn with his red guitar in hand). KROKUS was the opening act. I got my first guitar pick flung into the crowd from them.

Have you guys heard Montrose? They were Sammy's first main band. They featured Ronnie Montrose on guitar, Sammy on vocals and Denny Carmassi (Heart, Whitesnake) on drums. They were very influential on the likes of Iron Maiden who covered their song "I Got The Fire".

Montrose rocked! Their S/T debut album is a classic without a doubt. None of their subsequent releases quite lived up to that one though (in my opinion). I remember being disappointed with Paper Money. However, their post-Sammy album "Warner Bros Presents" does have 2 of my favorite songs on it, Lucky Man and All I need.
