Topic: Joe Fan From Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland

Hi

I just wanted to introduce myself im Neil from Northern Ireland and have been aware of Joes music for quite awhile but unfortunately i could never find any of his CD's anywhere in Northern Ireland until recently.  I was buying a few CD's off Amazon last week and bought the wrong CD by mistake and as luck would have it, it was Joe's You & Me album and it just blew me away.  The guitar playing the band everything about that cd makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand just sheer brilliance.  I have since bought all the other CD's which arrived today and cannot stop playing them and has renewed my interest in playing the guitar again.  Hopefully one day he will come North Of the Border and play a gig in the Belfast area.

Hi Neil and welcome to the forum!

It's always interesting to hear how people got to learn about Joe and yours is no exception.  Don't forget to purchase the Rockpalast Live DVD next time you go e-shopping and be prepared to be blown away even more.  There's nothing quite like the live experience.

Look out on the forum for a fellow N Irelander called Matt.

Glad to have you aboard.

Re: Joe Fan From Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland

Welcome on board Neil. We all have the same feelings as you here. I've been a convert for just about 3 months now, and it's great. Hope you get to witness a live show, it will only emphasise the enthusiasm you have already, believe me!! smile

You unable to make it to Dublin on the 8th of July??

Hi Neil and welcome to Joe World. It was no mistake..the Universe wanted you to have that CD. Keep your spirit. Joe is worth the effort, so watch the tour page and try to get to a show. The fact that you are inspired to play your guitar is an added bonus. Keep us informed about your progress.    Cathy

Welcome to the forum Neil, it's good to see I'm not the only one from Northern Ireland anymore. big_smile

Yeah, Joe is playing in Dublin on 8th July, I've already gotten tickets myself. You should try and get down to it, its the first time Joe has played in Ireland.

Hey Neil from Newtownabbey.  Welcome to the forum and to all great and wonderful things Joe including his awesome rockin' music.  If you love Joe now.....then I can only encourage you to make an effort to travel to see him and the boys play live.  They will COMPLETELY blow you AWAY.  We have a great bunch of people here on this forum who all feel the same about Joe and his music as you do.  So, stay awhile, make some new friends and post away....

There ARE NO coincidences Neil - CLEARLY, FATE brought JOE to your doorstep since you'd been unable to bring him to your home any other way!!!  Now, he is part of you and you are part of US - the happy family forum!!!  Welcome aboard!

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: Joe Fan From Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome it was really nice of you all.  It seems really strange that a Belfast gig has been planned a few days after i posted my introduction.  Does Joe read this forum i wonder.  Well my dream has come true i have just bought my tickets for the Belfast gig today and im really looking forward to it.  I never did tell you all what cd i did intend to buy that fateful day i bought Joe's by mistake.  It was the new Joe Satriani album.

What is really freaky as well i was suppose to go and see Joe Satriani last Satuarday night here in Belfast and i became very unwell and couldnt go to the gig then i read about Joe Bonamassa playing Belfast that same night.  Was it Fate??

Neil

PS Matt where in Northern Ireland are you from?

Re: Joe Fan From Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland

Neil - yes, Joe does read the forum and he also posts sometimes. Just search for "Joe Bonamassa" in the author search and you´ll see them all smile.

We also discovered that there´s no cowinkydink on this forum, so it´s no wonder that the Belfast date appeared so soon after your first post... and it´s only about 6 weeks to go now (I´m going to Liverpool) - yippie!

Hope you´re feeling better again smile

Re: Joe Fan From Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland

Hey Neil, good to see you got tickets for the Belfast show. I ordered some tickets myself and i can't wait. Have you ever been to the Spring and Airbrake venue before?

Im from Portadown btw smile

Matt

Re: Joe Fan From Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland

Matt

The Spring & Airbrake is only about 15 mins from my home and i've been to it a couple of times for a few beers but i've never actually went to a gig at the venue.  I've heard it has a great atmosphere.  I'm please you got tickets to the Belfast gig and sure nearer the time we could maybe arrange to meet and i'll buy you a beer.  I have also converted my wife to Joe's music so shes going with me as well.

Your in Portadown thats only a quick trip up the M1 not to far away from me.

That could be cool. Unfortunately, as I'm only 17 I probably shouldn't take you up on that beer wink But sure, I'll buy you one. I just hope the venue isn't too strict and asks for ID to get in, it did say strictly 18's when i booked the tickets, but ah well big_smile
