Yep, been made redundant today. Bit scary considering I'm 50 in November. Life's full of surprises eh? Hope we can pay the mortgage in the coming months. What's next?

Oh mate, so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine that someone with your knowledge and smarts would have any great trouble finding a new challenge. Keep your chin up and your upper lip stiff, you never know what might be around the next corner!
I'm so sorry Geoff, just look for other opportunities and I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Hey Geoff,
I'm so sorry for your news. Is it temporary? I know in my heart of hearts that you are a gem of a person and if this doesn't work there is something better awaiting you! I'll be thinking of you and sending all good mojo your way. Hang in there buddy! ?
Patty
Geoff,
I'll be thinking of you and praying for a quick solution. Remember that sometimes one door has to close in order for another to open.
ALL BEST,
Libby
I agree with the previous posts. Look at this as an opportunity. I know the money thing is very scary. But, 50 is a great age to find your "right" job. Follow your bliss... Cathy
I truly believe the adage that you can't keep a good man down....and you're a good man.
Things will work out...in the meantime, you're in our thoughts.
Change the lyrics then, mate! "Just got LAID off today"... No worries, let the wife do that. Just not for too long! Kidding aside, things always get better one day. May it be so soon!
Whoa, sorry to hear that my friend. It happened to me - after nearly 20 years with the same company - at 56 - took 9 months, but ended up doing something I really enjoy - and better paid! Keep thinking positive and work those contacts like you never have before! Good huntin!
Geoff
Sorry to hear that Geoff. I know how hard it must be for you. Hope you get back on the horse soon mate.
Paul
Geoff my friend, that's a real bummer and I'm truly sorry to hear that. Hope something positive can come out of this for you and Norma.

Agreed, sorry to hear the bad news Geoff...
Keep your chin up and stay positive, something will show up.
All the best.
Agreed to the 3rd power. Geoff, sorry to hear this news, but I am confident a guy with your knowledge, talent and witty personality will fall into something....:) Best of Luck and I misplaced Norma's web address, can you give me that link....maybe short-term you can re-invent yourself and design some very cool Guitar stationary (maybe you could get permission from the JB camp and promote Joe at the same time...I'm serious, my favorite Christmas card EVER was your wife's and the second one was of a Santa playing an acoustic guitar! I think it could be Something To Talk About and I volunteer my blabbermouth to spread the word ...Best Wishes Geoff!!!

Thanks to you all for the encouraging words...it means a great deal to me. I'm sure that this is 'the plan' and something good will come from it eventually. You really are a great bunch of people and I feel honoured to count you as my friends...all be it on-line in most instances.
Many thanks
Geoff
PS: Angela, I'll email you Norma's details asap.

Good Luck to You
Best Wishes Buddy ................... Michael
