Amy:  I too am a big Grace & the Nocturnals fan....saw them do an hour at a local blues fest and they just blew me away....contrary to Suhl's opinion, I think she has a great BIG voice and a TON of on-stage (and off) personality.  The band is tight and her Hammond playing is killer too.  Love the whole "Nothing But The Water" CD and a lot of the stuff of the newer CD.  Drop me an email through the link to the left of this post and I might be able to hook you up a live show or two :-)

Saw them open for Gov't Mule last October, she came out during their set and they did an amazing version of "Find The Cost of Freedom > Ohio", great stuff....next night did "Southern Man" which I didn't see but heard.

One of those bands that's good on record but much better live....go see 'em and decide for yourself.

Hi Amy,
  I'll be seeing Grace in 2 weeks at Mountain Jam. Thats a 3 day festival in upstate N.Y. headlined by Gov't Mule. Some great acts on the bill this year especially looking forward to Levon Helm and can't wait to see Mule again. To bad our man Joe won't be there. Could you imagine him and Warren together......If heartaches were nickles. Well I'll let you know how her set was. By the way--WELCOME to Joes' Forum.

Have you heard Levon's latest album, Dirt Farmer? Powerful, emotional stuff, especially context wise...(Levon's voice is more raspy and weaker from his throat cancer, but still has his special delivery)

Tripsy and Ges...AWESOME!!  This is a little band from VT who have been together for a while but are just really starting to gain momentum as a headlining act..they have toured with Mule a lot, with Black Crowes, Dave Mathews...I would recommend Nothing But the Water as far as albums go but honestly, they are just so much better live than their studio stuff that is out there now.  I think they may be putting together another release , there are some rumblings and I'll be sure to keep you posted...very much hoping it will be a live one.  They are  bluesy, big time soul, rock and roll....electrifying to see live as Grace will simply blow you away.  Wish I could be there for Mountain Jam..that would be incredible!!  don't forget..you can find all things NOcturnal on www.thisissomewhere.com...k.cortez who runs the site is incredible at finding any and all that is out there, and generally some really high quality videos and pictures.

I loooove love Warren Haynes and I'd kill to see them together....I'd have died and gone to heaven!!  and by the way..why the heck wasn't Joe at Crossroads 2007 in Chicago..can someone please explain this to me???  I was there but Joe was not...how can this beeeeee
