Re: Blues Station

It's nothing bogus....I've been a big fan of Joes for years. Being he's on the board of the International Blues Society here in Memphis, I have been trying to push stations here into playing what I would like to call Music that kind of borders on the Blues and other different styles.  I'm just doing sort of a self test to see if it might be something that people would listen to. Plus.... I play lots of Joe.

I see.  I'm glad to hear it.  One thread is probably enough.  The site requires a download?

Re: Blues Station

Sorry for all the threads....
Just a simple download for the Destiny Media Player that the station plays on. It's free and safe. You only have to use it to hear the station.

      Thanks

1st impressions are trivial here.  links right away however question loyalty.

Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: Blues Station

No Problem.....I'm just trying to explore my options on Keeping The Blues Alive. Living here in Memphis ( The Home Of the Blues ) I just feel it's such a shame that we don't have any stations here that show that. Call it a one man mission here. I do have a few friends on the inside of a couple of the stations. I just thought no better opinions than fellow Joe B fans.
Thanks for pointing out the ENFORCER to me too.

  Thanks - Steve

Re: Blues Station

Steve, Keeping the blues alive is a noble pursuit.  Welcome.  Funny, Roy. big_smile  good one.

Steve,

You've just met our Enforcer also known as Big Jeff. If you aren't for real he will Haiku you until you scream for mommy. If that doesn't work, he'll hold you down and pour his hot sauce all over your private areas. So just be careful!

Oh, and Welcome to Joe's Fabulous Forum.

Roy

Roy, Roy, Roy, LMFAO!!! big_smile

Re: Blues Station

Hi Steve. I tried to check out your station but I couldn't stream..my DSL issues...I think any radio that pushes the boundries is a good one. Joe has not had a pleasant tenure on the BOD at the BF. They are not to keen on Blues/Rock. It's an ongoing battle.
I was shocked this year at the IBC when I had rap blaring into the street from one bar on Beale Street. Proof that even the "Home of the Blues" has fallen into the hands of "bad" music. Thanks for playing Joe, fight the good fight and keep us posted. Oh, and see you next year..look for "my" band "Nothin but Trouble".      Cathy

Re: Blues Station

Cathy,

I know what you mean about them not being to keen on the Blues/Rock thing. I happen to believe that given the chance it might take listening to all sorts of music that incorporate styles of the Blues to get people back listening to them. thats what I try to do with my station, hence the name BorderLine Blues. It took me listening to the Blues/Rock to gain an intrest into the the older Blues music. I hope you will be able to pull up my station at some point and give me some feedback on it. I will keep my eyes open for your band too.

Thanks,
  Steve

You know, I tried my best to entertain Steve with my post. And what do I get? Zip, Nada, Nothing. That's OK, some of us have to be serious too. Hey, maybe this will impress you Steve. I've spoken to Joe a few times directly and he's signed a number of items for me. Also, he has posed for a picture or two with me. Like this one:

Granted, I had to slip Joe $50 to pose with me, but hey the first picture we took together he made me give him $100. He said I was entitled to a discount. So I've got that going for me!

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you ,  I've been researching the Samford Bridge thing..... I only moved to Memphis because I thought it was the home of the Blues. I guess it's time to pack up.    Roy.... if your ever in town  I'd only charge $25.00 to  pose for a couple of pics. with you.

Re: Blues Station

Plus the whole haiku thing went straight over my head.  Believe me ....I've never been told that I was too serious.

Indeed tongue I think blues is in short all over, dunno why shame really. The band Im in has just started gigging etc n we are getting good responses for playing blues enough to be invited back to places, so theres obviously a market somewhere its just not getting reached in most cases me thinks sad I blame it on the radio stations, I find my self listening to the chatter then when they play music I put my cd player on most of the time these days its a poor show, same stuff promoted over and over.
