Topic: new fan and a BIG FAN

hey guys!!  I'm the newest of the Bonamassa obsessed...from Kansas City.  wondering where I can find lyrics for any/all of his songs?  I had to laugh..."have you told anyone about Bonamassa today?" everywhere...I tell at least ONE person a day, and that is a slow day.  I'm up to 9 people who I have introduced to his music and are now fans too..how could you NOT be??!!  was thinking of driving up to winter park to see him for the 1st time live, but we'd prefer to see just him and not in a festival type format, so now we (hubby who is also a huge fan) are thinking more along the lines of flying to DFW to see him at the House of Blues in September.  Wondering just how hard it is going to be to get tickets to that.. Anyway, glad to be amongst others who have supurb taste in music..Bonamassa BLOWS MY MIND.

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

Welcome to the House of Joe, Moremassa.  Fabulous name you have there, by the way.  Your enthusiasm for Joe warms my heart and will be recognized by all who hang out here.  Glad you joined us.

Now, as far as a Joe show goes - well, my advice to you is JUST DO IT.  Get to one, or as many as you can, as soon as possible.  Actually, your potential plans for the Dallas House of Blues show would get my vote for two reasons.  First of all, it's right around the corner (sort of) from Austin City Limits and so, you could do that as well.  Secondly, another band, who has recently won me over completely (as well as several other Bonamassa Faithful), Back Door Slam, will be opening for Joe, for the first time (at least as I write this), at that show.  Since this is an introduction page on Joe's forum, I won't go on and on about how I feel about BDS here and now, but, if you take yourself over to the 'Other Artists' category and look around, you will see many wildly enthusiastic remarks about this particular trio of fine lads from the Isle of Man.  (look for BDS or Back Door Slam)

Meanwhile, welcome, once again.  Enjoy yourself.  It's a great bunch of people you are in the company of - we know how to have a good time and SHARE all sorts of things.  Oh, by the way, you'll be happy to know that Joe himself participates here, from time to time.

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

Hi Moremassa..Know how you feel. I say get all the Joe Live you can. Do both!! I second Libby's idea re BDS and Joe..WOW!! You really should sign up for the Street Team because you are already doing the work. As for lyrics....You can check them out on this site..but be warned..it will cease to be after the 23rd of this month. They aren't "offical", but fan generated. I know Jane is hoping to find a way to save them..Good Luck!! Cathy

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

thanks guys!!  I have already joined the street team.  I'm married, kid-less, so hubby and I spend our time traveling and seeing live shows. (it's hell, but someone's got to do it)  Hubby is a musician, a guitar player at that, and he and I are hands down huge HUGE fans.  Telling 10 people a day is really no problem since he seems to be all I can think about or listen to!  Pretty sure the House of Blues show is a definate GO....so pissed off we missed him in November when he was in KC last year!  I'll never live that one down.  It's so funny to me all the advice about GETTING TO A LIVE SHOW...believe me this is all I think about and I check his tour schedule daily just IN CASE he posts something we can get to.  Joe if you are out there...you rock my ever lovin world!!  Your fans rock my world too-can't wait to talk to you more here and SEE YOU AT A SHOW!

THANKS Cathy for the link to lyrics.  One thing I love about Joe (one of the million things) is for the most part you can HEAR the words he is singing.  God I love his voice.  Just missing a few words on a few songs that are driving me crazy...

and thanks Libby-I"ll definately be checking out Back Door Slam!!

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

no doubt about it...I DO GOT IT BAD!!!!!!!!  and the road is my home when it comes to seeing my favorites...

speaking of home, do you guys think that perhaps more dates will be posted here in the good ole US of A? It seems there are some holes in his tour schedule, so really hoping so.   I've never wanted to be a European more after checking out JB's tour schedule. no offense to our friends over the water, but PLEASE COME HOME...we Americans love our Bonamassa!!  MORE MASSA!! MORE MASSA!!

and if I read a post correctly, can we expect a new live release at the end of August?? could that mean MORE MASSA ON TOUR??

THANKS ANDRE for the welcome!

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

Yes, there will  a new double live CD be released in August in Holland. Europe is moslty just ahead of the USA so I guess it will be a few weeks later across the pond.
Joe's record company Provogue is Dutch, that's why I guess.

Great vocals by Joe & getting better all the time and I especially cherish that I can understand what he's singing...I think you and Jane H. are especially going to relate to one another, she's a lyric freak, in a good way, of course. smile  Any few words you're missing, I can almost guarantee Jane will come to your rescue.  Jane has a thread right here...

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

that is great--THANK YOU!! yes, I'm a lyric freak, only becuz I have to sing along...and how cool is it when you have to mumble through a few....

I've already figured out a few from the earlier post-the old street team site.

There’s nine-to-fives, pretty yards, (this is what I couldn't get)
That was never babe, in the cards.
I don’t live anywhere, I live everywhere,
This road is my home.

The clamours and glamours of the city, I don’t need ‘em. (couldn't quite make out clamours)
As long as I live, let me hold on to my freedom!

Heart rate fallin’ - river flood,
Black cat bawlin’ - moon drippin’ blood.(couldn't get either of these)

and let me just say right here and right now....MOUNTAIN TIME...seriously, this song goes straight to my soul.  so beautiful....so rock and roll....SO BONAMASSA!!!

ALSO...I have a huge crush on him.  doesn't help with my obsession.   get me to my car so I can blast my Blues Delux which has been in my car for a week and been played over...and over...and over....

Hi Amy,

Welcome to all things Joe! I am sorry that you did not get to see Joe when he was in KC last Nov. Here are my photos from the KC show. Maybe this will help you feel a little bit like you were there. Also below is the link to photos from July 2006 when Joe played at The River Market.

A show was just posted today for Joe in the St. Louis area Oct. 2nd. It is at Harrah's casino, which would be an easy trek across the state on Hwy 40. I am still hoping that a KC date will pop up on the schedule.

Gotta go, I am at work, but will be catching up with you soon! smile

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

Hi More & Hubby...Keep doin' it more 'n more.  Keep spreading the news.  One concert is indeed the need, and verily A.S.A. P. for the sake of thine insanity and happiness in marriage.  It's also the most highly recommended form of making believers, not just listeners, to us telling them about Joe Bonamassa's talent.  He's in it for the show, sow, and reap, my good advice:
Is go, splurge on someone (friends, especially any not yet "familiar', as they are great candidates for becoming part of this here family) unbeknownst to them, and the surprise & amazement will be doubly fun for all.

Put some money in Joe's pocket, he tosses it back into the kitty and deals it back a winner, sorta more " 'massa" for you every time! wink

Re: new fan and a BIG FAN

Libby-got home last nite and hubby told me about St Louis!  very psyched..looks like I'll get a double dose of Joe now..ST Louis and Dallas!!  and maybe, just maybe....ole KC too??!!  (Joe if your out there...throw us a bone! )

thanks for the links, I can't wait to check them out.  I will NEVER forgive myself for not being there.  sad

Rocket-you are cracking me up!  I just bought the Rockapalast DVD and sent it to a friend in VT because I"m sorry but everyone who loves music has just got to see it!  he says his neighbors are hating him as he is blasting it non stop.  My brother in law...totally obsessed since we introduced him...he's making the jaunt to Winter Park, told me yesterday he's also going to Dallas...my guess is he'll join us in our trip to ST Louis as well.  So as they say...I am ON IT....when you hear someone this good you can't help but shout it from the highest mountain...which is pretty hard to find out here in Missouri let me tell you!

Happy Friday people...8 more hours until I"m blasting MORE MASSA and tossing back a brew or 12.  hooray!!!
