Well, his playing is mostly pentatonic scales.  I think the best thing he ever wrote was the first few minutes from his tune Farm Fiddlin.  That just blows my mind.

  I liked this video the best...youtube has all sorts of cool vids like this.  I always watch a few when I get in a rut.

tell me about it!  I like BLS but its half and half to my ears.  Half of it is good and the other is filler.

wylde is great, the thing is if youve heard most of his material it is plainly obvious that metal is not his strong point.  in fact id go so far as saying its his weak point.  the riffs are tiresome and the only thing unique about his metal sound is the blatant overuse of pinch harmonics.  meanwhile hand him an acoustic guitar and man...it's magic.

I've got the BLS DVD's and I keep watching his backstage/tour bus footage and its just amazing what he can do.  I think with BLS, it's almost boring to him playing wise, with a few exceptions obviously.  The solos in songs like All For You and Won't Find it Here are pretty cool.  I love the solos he laid down on Book of Shadows, particually 'Sold My Soul'.  Then the Pride & Glory stuff is just INSANE.  'Toe'n the Line' anyone?

alot of his BLS solos start to sound the same...  but I cant say enough for the guy or his stuff!
