Does Joe count or not?!

Pre Joe my fave blues disc used to be Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues - it is one of the highest selling blues discs ever. The great thing was after hearing the songs on that album it lead me from a rock background onto a blues discovery as I started exporing the artists Gary had covered, such as Albert King, Otish Rush, BB King, John Mayall & Peter Green etc. I'd recommend it for those of a rock background looking for a starting place to get into the blues. Naturally Joe would be another one...
I'm going to have to say Stevie Ray Vaughan-Live at Carnegie Hall, simply because it was the first, and it opened up a totally new musical avenue for me, and that road led me to Joe!!
Off the top of my head, I'd have to say Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band - Live On
Because when it came out, it was the heaviest blues I've ever heard.
In Too Deep
Them Changes
Oh Well
Where Was I?
AWESOME TUNES.
-Not sure it's my ALL TIME, but it was the first that came to mind...
My current fave is BDS - Roll Away
Probably Led Zep I...and yes, I do consider that a blues album!
For me it is blues-rock and the first one I owned (even before Beano, and yes because of the cracked speaker tone on that I do consider it blues rock) was Halfbreed by Keef Hartley and I still listen to it, great album....
Please define Blues first.
thank you
C'mon Jane, shots in the dark are SO much more interesting!
This is an impossibility for me. I couldn't pick out one lp from all those that had a profound effect on me, nor did I start out in the world of blues or blues rock. A very short list of albums that had a profound effect on me from the first hearing might be -
The first Doors
Dropout Boogie - Beefheart's first
Velvet Underground and Nico
Return of the Grievous Angel - Gram Parsons and Emmylou
Dixie Chicken - Little Feat
That's a VERY short list and took a lot of scratching behind the ear.
Please define Blues first.
thank you
Jane dear,
GOOD ONE!

WOW! Helluva a good call. I have that on vinyl. Leavin' Trunk. Keef played with Mayall as did all the Brit bluesers worth their salt.
Jane, don't get so flippin' technical on me!!!! If The Monkees do it for ya' blues wise that's cool.
I'm diggin' these responses, I'll fess up a little later.

O.k., as boring as it may sound, but then it´s Joe. Don´t make me pick one now !
Alright, I´ll try .... let me think ..... aaarrrgghhhh, I say "ANDY Live" now, because it was the first one I "fell in love with".
But there´s so many others too .......... hmpf, just got to be Joe.

Now I understand your dilemma, that's Joe's most R&R disc of the bunch IMO. I should have known too, considering how much you love Pain & Sorrow. I remember the day a few years back when I called you listening to that tune sittin' at the beach in Oceanside on the left coast, thinkin' about Oceanside, MD. on the right coast about as far away on the U.S. continent as you can get. As you roll into Sacramento on I-80 (Don't be too long) there's a sign that tells you how far to Oceanside, MD., it's 3,000 plus miles.
