Topic: For those about to rock....

Just rec'd this email from Bad Boy Central:

"For the last few months, we've heard you whispering in dark corners of the internet. We've heard the hushed tones you've used in your favorite watering holes. We've heard your back alley mutterings. So, we thought it needed to be said loud and clear - AC/DC's got a new album on the way.

The boys have been holed up in a Vancouver studio with producer Brendan O'Brien and longtime audio engineer Mike Fraser, cooking up their first collection of new material since the 2000 release of Stiff Upper Lip."

There's probably not a lot of AC/DC fans here, but I suspect there's a few.

Re: For those about to rock....

How can anyone not like AC/DC? I can understand not being a huge fan of them, but everybody I guarantee you likes at least one song. How many big time songs have they had? TNT, Dirty Deeds, Highway To Hell, It's A Long Way To The Top, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Hell's Bells, Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, For Those About To Rock, Thunderstruck, Money Talks, Who Made Who, Stiff Upper Lip. Jeez, what a good band.

Re: For those about to rock....

Hello Stu,

This is correct, when I went to Angus and Ellens house to give them  my Forumpresent  the constructor told me they were in Vancouver. I told that in an earlier message on the forum.
He said Angus was in the studio in Vancouver  to record a new AC/DC album, but it was a secret and he asked me not to tell anybody and ...I didn't ofcourse!!!
He also said they will do a tour probably in the beginning of 2009, affter the album is released at end of the year.

Re: For those about to rock....

Great news.  I rather liked Stiff Upper Lip.  Thought it didn't get enough credit when it came out...

Re: For those about to rock....

Aww man this is seriously  epic news!!!!

AC/DC were my number one band until I heard Joe. In fact Angus' influence is probly the main reason why i have  Gibson SG as my main axe.

Actually as im reading this I've opened my email box and found the same e-mail lol

World tour? I'm There big_smile,

It's my favorite album by them. Although I've came across some metal guys who hate it because they thought AC/DC went soft. I consider it their blues album.

I agree. There are those times when only that stripped-down, ballsy, bad-boy bluesy rock does the trick. Sometimes I think the secret to their longevity has been their ability to remain true to their sound and style, and as a result, remain true to their fans. I still prefer Bon Scott's vocals to those of Brian Johnson, but yeah...they're definitely responsible of some of my hearing loss (and are 1 of only 2 bands to ever throw my truck amp into "Safe" mode and turn it off)!

And anybody who has ever seen em live knows the lads give 110% every time out. They do not ever rip-off their fans with a sub-par performance.

Re: For those about to rock....

Yeah exactly! That reminds me of a quote I read in Guitarist. It might have been Joe Perry from aerosmith was talking about AC/DC and he said something along the lines of: The trick of AC/DC is, if music is a house with different rooms being the different styles, then AC/DC stay in the same room, just move around the furniture.

Thout it was pretty cool.

"Stellar" a word used by Joe Bonamassa (also apt as a description of the man himself cool)

AC/DC are pone of the few bands that I haven't seen live that I want to. New album and (hopefully) tour have been a long time coming!
