Stratocaster question. (Page 3 of 3)

Ken,  I talked to Ron Kirn this morn about strat  build he is doing for me.  I had sent him 130 lbs of this old chestnut, so figure theres a few bodys worth in there.  After talking neck specs, hardware, finish, ect; I mentioned that I wanted to see the body when first put together, so I could see grain patterns and was happy with it and all.  He said he would put several nice bodys together and then email  picts, so I could choose which one I liked best; then if I didn't like it later on; only have to look in mirror to blame.  Like his style; way to do business.     I've heard Kirn had his opinions, but nobody questions his ability at geetar building. He got me thinking about this new strat now on the way.

Also talked to Curt Novak, guy does custom handwounds.  I asked him how his kirn body guitars turned out, how they sounded? from this same chestnut.  Almost together and he's sending some picts with some special leather pickguards, maybe not for me, but I'll check them out.   Told him I needed a set of his custom strat pups, for this one Kirn is doing, he said he'd make them up.  Novak, another good guy.
