Topic: Gas Prices

I just saw on the news a review on sites where you can track gas prices in your area.  This site looked pretty good:

You can zoom in on your area, or enter your location, and it'll show you local prices on gas.  It even tells you when the price was as of (how many hours old  the info is).

I find it amazing that my town is 30 cents a gallon more than a neighboring New Jersey town.  You can believe that we cross the border to fill up!

Hi Mindy,
Gas is the ONLY thing cheaper in New Jersey and there is no self-serve in Jersey, so that's a bonus.  The savings will never catch up to excessive property taxes, etc. etc. Its a very expensive state to live in and one of our former governors ran up huge credit card debt to balance the budget, (and look good) only to hand the problems to the next guy...:D 

A gas station in Philly last week sold gas at .76 (cents per gallon) in honor of the NBA 76er's being in the playoffs...they had to hire security to control the gas lines.

still cheaper then uk sad think a gallon of diesel here works out at $10.81 (£5.40) and petrol is slightly behind that sad

The station I gas up at was at $3.93 for 87 octane yesterday....I'll be riding a motorcycle to work in about a week...my brother emailed me about a Yamaha "Zuma" scooter...it gets 123 mpg!!!....looks kind of cool too, and only $2000 for a 2008 model

Just filled up in NJ, it was 3.51 for regular. I thought that was bad until I saw what Dave paid. yikes

I've heard about NJ property taxes, my brother lives there...what he pays for a small plot of land is more than I pay for up here for 1 1/2 acres.  It's crazy.

I can't believe they sold gas that cheap!  It must have been crazy with the lines.  Reminds me of way back when, I forget what year, but they limited gas sales, and you could only go every other day, depending on what your license plate number ended in?  My memory is shot I can't remember what year that was.

my little Honda Insight gets 58MPG, its rated for 62-68MPG.  You can get ones from the early 2000's for less than $10,000....so if you're hurting for gas you should get one. They make a Prius look like a gas hog!

it is a two seater though, just enough room for my ipod and my guitar!

Do a lot of people use mass transit or use their cars much less there, I'm curious as to how you deal with prices like that. yikes

Well for me its £200 ($400) a month... the roads are always congested and its only set to get worse... and the prices are still rising I get roughly 60MPG too the roads are that congested where I live that coming to work which would usually be a 30 minute drive takes me 1hour 30 mins sad

$3.66 where I usually fill up...I heard it could be up to $5.00 by the end of the summer.
