Great shot, Tripsy.

My guesses are 1) Sloe Gin; or 2) Asking Around For You

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

By the amount of sweat on Joe, I would say it has to be at the end of the show and I would be inclined to think it was Asking Around For You....especially since his hands are on his chest in that very expressive manner.....luv the picture, thanks for sharing Tripsy ?

Well deduced Patty! That's my guess, too.

The only part that throws me a bit is the guitar. Except for the first time I heard Joe play that song he has always used his "Lucille" or another blond semi-hollowbody Gibson pictured here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/leeericspi … 093136250/

BTW - the first time I heard "Asking Around For You" Joe played it on the gold sparkle Strat.

Re: Which song was Joe singing when I took this picture?

I think it was Sloe Gin. The photo set I have from the St. Louis show at The Pageant has Joe in the same pose, early on with the Les Paul and then again at the end with his Lucille, which I know for sure was "Asking Around for You". smile

Asking Round For You... was this at the Cockpit in Leeds in Feb? I was there!.. just a few steps to the left smile amazing night!

Re: Which song was Joe singing when I took this picture?

Lee & Rhonda,

The guitar was making me go back and forth, too......but Sloe Gin is usually earlier in the set.....maybe it was really hot in there or Joe had a fever (there were some sick days)...guess only Tripsy knows and she's making us wait lol

Re: Which song was Joe singing when I took this picture?

My guess would be Sloe Gin-because he still has his shades on-they only seem to come off for the last encore.  My pictures from Providence

and my memory from Boston [and every other Joe show I've been to] the shades don't come off to the end!

That´s "Asing around for you" without a doubt - Joe played the gold LP for "Asking around for you" at the last European tour ...

It´s the point where Joe steps away from the microphone and just sings "a cappella" ... I took a similar picture in Berlin, you can see the guitar there too (even though the picture is a little blurred): http://www.flickr.com/photos/25162871@N … 328526165/

This is kind of like 'spot the ball' or 'name that tune'. big_smile

I'm no expert, but if Roy and Eva are both sure that's good enough for me.

I concur with Roy and Eva.

Re: Which song was Joe singing when I took this picture?

I thought it was "Asking Around For You" also, but then I noticed he's playing a Les Paul. Doesn't he usually play the 335 or another semi-hollowbody for that song?

Re: Which song was Joe singing when I took this picture?

Here's one of the clues that led me to think it could have been "Asking..." despite the guitar.

Re: Which song was Joe singing when I took this picture?

Lee, I agree that Joe has played "Asking Around for You" on something other than his Lucille, but the guitar in Tripsy's photo is the 59 LP. I saw on several occasions last fall, Joe play Sloe Gin on the LP and he does do the hand (s) on the chest during that song. According to the review of the Leeds show, Sloe Gin was the 6th song in the set. Joe us usually sweating pretty good after the 3rd song!

I still say it was Sloe Gin.....

Tripsy? Are you going to tell us? lol

Re: Which song was Joe singing when I took this picture?

Rhonda, I think the guitar in the photo in question is the Gold Top Les Paul because you can see the black trim around the toggle switch. The 59 has cream colored trim as shown here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24172986@N … 993911714/

As far as the hands on the chest, I know exactly what you're talking about. That's why I did some further investigation.

The one clue that really led me to guess "Asking..." is the time the photo was taken. If you click on "More properties" under additional information on each photo page it takes you to a page that shows the time of day for each photo. The photo in question was taken 89 min. after the earliest photo in the set.
The earliest photo I found was this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24172986@N … 3993911714
It says 9:24 am PST,
The photo in question was taken at 10:53 am PST as shown on this page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24172986@N … 3993911714

I'm just looking at the two times relative to one another. If the photos were really taken at that time it would have only been about 5:24 pm UK time (8 hours difference) for the first and 6:53 for the other. In other words, I don't think the clock was set to the correct time on Tripsy's camera. smile
